Interesting Wor-Gar, why lucky? I thought you were going for the SSC Ark?
I am, but I still think you're fortunate to get that Hasbro piece. It's a great piece. My preference will be determined once I have the SS ark in hand, so who's knows what my final fav will be. But that Hasbro is getting harder to find so kudos to you for getting one, and for Irish for passing it along.
Just because I'm getting the SS ark doesn't mean I have to dislike the Hasbro one.
Seems like a lot of this board gets itself into a corner by choosing sides like that. You can like both.

Since the SSC one isn't real shiney you say the Hasbro one is the reveal piece and the Sideshow one is the opening aftemath piece when its all dirty & dusty.

100% agree, it seems like the second you say you like one thing that has a counter part you are instantly type cast into hating the other one and then made fun of it for it.
I have said it before I definitely dig both. I don't have the hasbro and I am getting the SSC. I would love the hasbro one down the line.

Exactly. The Hasbro one looks great and I wouldn't have minded if it was the only Ark I had. But I missed out on it and I'm not willing to pay the $100 it's going for on ebay now. Even $60 is a little too much for me for the Hasbro Ark. I'm sticking with Sideshow because it's the nicest alternative now and I have faith that it'll look pretty good in person.

I'm too close to this to make a rational judgement. Is it the paint for you that's throwing it off?

The paint is too dull and the angel people are too large and wings too stubby.
I actually thought the 'angel people' looked better in bmarz's pics than they did in the SS prod pics. Not exact, but closer.
The shape is pretty close... but that flat color really makes it hard to notice the positive. Still, it matches the source in shape as it should.

Is there any kind of paint that could alter the look - it seems the shape and stuff are right based on that comparions - its only the finish that is wrong ?

It's definitely what's "wrongest" with it. If re-painted, it may make all the difference.
