Well machinima gave it the lowest score so far 6.0, there's one 7.0 afterwards and then the next 29 reviews are above 8.0 according to Metacritic.

Machinima is not known for reviewing games much differently from the other 2 major mainstream reviewers (IGN, Gamespot) so I guess this reviewer in particular did not like the game at all.

Even so the rest of the reviews by big or small reviewers look pretty solid, and frankly this looks like one of the best games that has come out in the last couple of months, but you know, the bar wasn't set too high.

I wouldn't say the reviewer didn't like the game at all because in reality a 6 is average. I agree thought this game does look fantastic and one of the better looking games so far this year. Yes I know only been a couple of months. I wasn't planning on picking this up since Starcraft 2 is coming out so soon, but this looks way to good to pass up.

Well 6.0 is one of the lowest scores I remember in Machinima, since IGN, GS and Machinima tend to be very randomly generous when giving 9.0's and 10s, 6.0 is actually a pretty crappy score.

I guess if your comparing it to their other reviews it might be crap, but in general 6.0 is average. Even on Metacritic it is defined as mixed and not just negative. Either way that is about the only average-bad review so far. I can't wait to play this game. Has anyone heard the average playthough length? The couple of reviews I have read never mentioned it.

Yeah it's only one bad review, and I've seen it, It's really inconsistent to the rest of the reviews so it's not gonna ruin the party for me.

Regarding the campaign length, they mentioned in their twitter that it would be about 12-15 hours.

It must be quite powerful.

You have no idea. In fact I plan on telling the board every time I buy a "PC" game. **** all the little people. I may even make a youtube video or two about it. My rig is better than Jesus.

I was gonna pre order from.best buy for the bomber jacket outfit but there are too many best buy pre order horror stories.

To me, I still feel like the previous trilogy could have more sequels instead of getting a reboot. It seems like the PS2/Underworld Lara has more adventures we could play. My enjoyment of the new game is based on how well it could make me forget the old trilogy.

The thing with a reboot is it making a lot more people interested in the game. Not only will it bring back all the people who love tomb raider, but new people as well. If this was a sequel I wouldn't be nearly as excited. I think they were smart in rebooting rather than throwing out a sequel. That's my two cents. I know their will be plenty of people who disagree with me :lol

Yeah, I'd like to politely disagree with you there buddy. The previous trilogy wasn't broke, if anything it was very promising. Now I'll never know how
Lara spends her life coping with shooting her zombified mother in the face, or where she relocates

If anything needs a reboot it's Resident Evil, but that goes without saying.

Capcom seriously needs to necessitate that franchise. RE6 is a complete turd. I wouldn't say a reboot with new characters and story, I would just say do a Gamecube complete REmake of all the PSX games.

Resident Evil 2 has been begged to be remade for a decade at this point.

Anyway...

:offtopic: :lol

RE Doesnt really need rebooted, they just need to Pretend that Revelations was meant to be released after Re 6 and continue with that style. 4 was innovative, 5 nailed the gameplay (i dont care about moving and shooting, we got it and look what happened) and Revelations took what re 4&5 had done gameplay wise and decided to throw in a Re 1 style setting for the most part.

I dont think it matters too much with tomb raider if we get a remake, sequel, reboot i dont know many people who are in it for the story. Just the adventure. Give new unique and beautiful levels every game and i dont think too many people would mind what happened the previous game.

Ive did 1,2,3 last revelation, legend & underworld and the remake of the first

i dont know sod all about the story

I am new to the Tomb Raider series. My only realy experience with it was Guardian of Light. The story is what most interests me. But I am that type of gamer. I will put up with less than amazing graphics and gameplay, if your story is amazing. But I also don't really care for multiplayer for the most part. Story trumps all for me. Like a good book.

You and me both. I'm more of a single player gamer (aside from stuff like Street Fighter), and most multiplayer games hold no interest to me. I actually played CoD for the "story", and not the multiplayer.

However, it kind of makes me sad that the multiplayer in Tomb Raider is so lackluster, from what the reviews are saying. They should have just scrapped it and focused on the main single player experience even more.

most of my favorite games are on ps1, because i love music, atmosphere and story. But i never get the feel when im playing any tomb raider game that im meant to really be invested in the story, characters or outcome. Only that its there to give a reason for the location changes as you progress through the game

Lara should have a baby with Nathan drake..ultimate puzzle solver and explorer.
