Why is it when a game gets good reviews someone always has to bring up that reviewers can't be trusted....:dunno You haven't read reviews in ten years good for you. Me I still read reviews and watch them. Do I agree with them all the time? Hell no, but it still allows me to get some insight on the game.

It has to be said so people understand that the fix is in on the majority of big budget titles. Few popular magazines have the nerve to rate a big game lower than an 8. Only recently is the situation really coming out in the public and showing so called gaming "journalists" for what they really are. Which is an indirect part of PR for gaming companies.

Anyway, I'm picking up the steelbook. It will probably stay on display with the coming Sideshow statue. Maybe Sideshow will tease something today or next week.

:exactly: I'm more willing to respect a reviewer like the guys at The Loading Bar or Angry Joe than most professional reviewers. Joe frequently gets hyped about a game, only to have to come back and admit it was a bad game. His review of Alpha Protocol mirrored my own thoughts. But I disagreed with his praise of the Extended Cut Ending for Mass Effect 3. Overall I use reviews on games i have not been paying attention too, or was on the fence about. No review has ever disuaded me from buying a game I really wanted.

I don't believe that totally. People *****ed at IGN because they gave RE 6 a low score.

I know a game is going to be pretty decent if the publisher allows access to reviews early. That's usually the best indication.

It is not exactly new. This thing has been going on the moment corporates start advertising in your paper or magazines. It is always this balance of not pissing off your source of income and at the same time trying to be honest in you journalistic duties. Sadly, money wins most of the time and that's why I stop buying magazines now. They read more like advertorials disguised at a review.

I go with a consensus. If a game averages an 8 after 25 plus reviews...there's probably something to that. I dont buy into the whole conspiracy angles about which site or magazine has been bought. According to the internet, every review site is bought and untrustworthy. If a score is "low", they've been bought by the competition. If it's "too high", they've been bought by the publisher of that game. It becomes a lose/lose situation for pro reviewers.

It never fails on forums. A big game gets released and the first score comes out. 4/10. "Man, f$%@ those guys! I never trust them anyway. They're (insert company name here) fanboys. They gave (insert game title here) a 9/10 and that game sucked!"

Review embargos dont mean anything anymore either. It's becoming common practice whether the game's good or not, to not allow reviews until release day. I'm still not sure how they can do this or how it's even ethical or even legal, but it happens all the time. Some of the best scoring games had embargoes on them...who knows why.

Game reviews tend to be good tho sometimes biased. The controls and gameplay portions tend to be good in reviews. And when they compare 2 different games i wanna slap the reviewer and say don't nobody give a **** about that other game right now. Movie reviews suck because it's all subjective.

:exactly: This is the point. When a major game release like Mass Effect 3 came along and not one reviewer even mentioned the ending. Then once fans got it and rightly pushed back against Bioware, EA, and the review industry, they all pushed back and formed a united front saying gamers were selfish and entitled. Nevermind that people had paid their hard earned money for what what amounted to an unfinished product. People even pointed out how IGN not only got exclusive access, but one of their reporters was in the game. So it is not unfair to say that a lot of game reviewers are on the take.

Just curious, is the PC version's graphic going to be a lot better than the console version? Don't know if the PC is getting a console port or not. I feel like this game could be one of those games I will keep playing for a long time. I don't want to constantly pull out my 360 or PS3 all the time just to play it once the new ones come out. Don't sound like the new consoles will have backwards compatability anyways.

From what I am reading it seems like the PC version is the way to go if your computer can handle it.

In short, it’s going to be gorgeous, as long as your system falls within the recommended spec range.

Recommended system requirements for PC
• Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
• DirectX 11 graphics card with 1GB Video RAM: AMD Radeon HD 4870, NVIDIA GTX 480
• Quad core CPU: AMD Phenom II X2 565, Intel Core i5-750
• 4GB RAM

You good? If not you’ve still got plenty of wiggle room between those lofty goals and the minimum requirements. Crystal Dynamics promises plenty of scalability options for folks with older machines. They even support Windows XP. Talk about raiding a tomb.

Minimum system requirements for PC
• Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista, 7, 8 (32-bit/64-bit)
• DirectX 9 graphics card with 512Mb Video RAM: AMD Radeon HD 2600 XT, NVIDIA 8600
• Dual core CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 2.1 GHz (4050+), Intel Core 2 Duo 1.86GHz (E6300)
• 1GB RAM (2GB on Vista)

Haha those are some LOW spec stuff :lol

Thanks for the link! I decided I am going to buy both console and PC just for the hell of it.

I am going to go for the LE controller too because I like the paint and damage decoration on it. The generic black controller looks boring to me.
