Consoles are better. Discuss.

LOL
There's a place for both.

But I can't help it if PC's are upgradeable and customizable.
We ALL have PC's. Some of us just choose to add a couple more pricey components to make it a gaming PC.

I like consoles for certain genres of games and "living room" chill time.
And PC for other games where I get way more involved.

And for those of us that LOVE high end cutting edge graphic tech, then yes, PC is the way to go.
Fact of life lol

Hmmmm...only $44.99 for PC download on Amazon right now plus an extra $5 Amazon credit on top of that.

Yes PC all the way here too. Sorry folks, who can't afford it, or get upset when we get excited about the PC and express it.

Don't apologize for their problem.

It's not like SOLIDSNAKE is trolling. He gets this enthusiastic about everything. :lol

If people are going to take it as some kind of attack, well...

played the multi tonight. It plays quite well once you get used to it. My only gripe is the sprint button being on B button or circle button. Im used to sprinting and being able to use my right stick for my left/right camera, so it will take a little getting used too.

Maybe I will just get the PS3 version for now.

Reasons for disliking PC gaming:

The PC edition of Tomb Raider isn't the most stable, as it seems that the game constantly crashes when played on computers that use Nvidia graphics cards from the GTX 600 family (GTX 650, 660, 670, 680, 690).

The long-awaited Tomb Raider reboot has just appeared on PC as well as on consoles today, March 5, but issues have already started affecting the action adventure game.

Many users have started complaining on the game's Steam forums of crashes on PCs powered by Nvidia graphics cards from the GTX 600 series.

Apparently, the crashes keep happening on different driver versions, including the most recent beta 314.14 edition that came out yesterday.

Some solutions have been found, such as turning off features like Tesselation or Exclusive Fullscreen, but some are still reporting the same crashes.

As of yet, developer Crystal Dynamics or publisher Square Enix haven't commented on these issues.

NVIDIA GPU Performance Issues in the new Tomb Raider

The new Tomb Raider reboot was released last night, and has so far been praised as a good game that brings back that nostalgia of the old Tomb Raider games. However, in our testing today, we have become aware of performance issues on NVIDIA GPUs while playing this game. We reached out to NVIDIA for answers and some information for you if you are experiencing slower than expected performance, it is not just you. We asked NVIDIA what the best driver for the game is right now, and NVIDIA's response is as follows:

Hi Brent. You can try using the latest beta driver however, please note that we are aware of major performance and stability issues with GeForce GPUs running Tomb Raider with maximum settings. Unfortunately, NVIDIA didn't receive final code until this past weekend which substantially decreased stability, image quality and performance over a build we were previously provided. We are working closely with Crystal Dynamics to address and resolve all game issues as quickly as possible. In the meantime, we would like to apologize to GeForce users that are not able to have a great experience playing Tomb Raider, as they have come to expect with all of their favorite PC games.

We then followed up asking about an ETA for the new driver, and got this response:

Hi Brent, this isn't solely a driver issue. The developer needs to make some changes on their end to fix their issues on GeForce GPUs. This will require code changes to the game.

So there you go, it is not only going to take a driver update, but also a patch update for the game to get the most out of NVIDIA GeForce GPUs. I myself am experiencing slow performance, (R.E. 20's FPS) with GTX 680 SLI at maxed out in-game settings, with FXAA. There is definitely a performance issue that needs resolving. The only thing you can do right now, if you are experiencing slow performance, is turn TressFX off, back to Normal, and try lowering in-game setting, starting with SSAO, to try and improve performance. We will have a full evaluation of this game, and its performance and IQ next week with tips on how to get the most out of it performance wise.
