Initially thought I’d go with the classic sitting up pose on the cushion by Jabba’s belly but then figured, as my Jabba display is more an amalgamation of character moments than the replication of a scene, she could slot in in a more heroic and victorious pose.

just saw ROTJ in theatres for the 40th anniversary and it's so stupid Disney/Lucasfilm or whomever put a block on Slave Leia merch. It's such an iconic look and she kills one of the sagas biggest bad guys in it.... it's a shame we can't get a HT or higher quality licensed version.

According to the PropStore listing of the costume, the red fabric skirt in the photos above is a reproduction added later, not screen used. I always thought it should be more purple than red. Anyone else agree, or is it another Han blue/brown coat debate?

It obviously looks too short unless the manakin is too tall for Carrie’s 5’2” stature. I would also agree it should be a bit more purple or maroon in color than red.

There are so many reference shots from different Lucasfilm displays coupled with actual screen photos that have aged or been color altered that it’s hard to know exactly what color anything was on screen.

Here are a few more shots I found. Even in the two shots of the exact same costume with white manakin it seems the color is changed.

I purchased the body from the SW Toys Jill Valentine 3.0 Standard Edition from part outs.

Skin tone is a bit off.

I wish the “suntan” seamless bodies were darker.
You can use pastels to dye it. If you screw it up, just run it in some water and start over. There’s videos in this thread I think.

What do they object to? Whether it's the term "slave" or the sexualization of the female character, they could address both concerns by simply renaming her "Bikini Leia." That presents her outfit as a reasonable fashion choice very popular on planets like Tatooine and as innocuous/family friendly as "Bikini Barbie" :)

Could just as easily rename her Jabba’s Prisoner Leia. I think some merchandise had that name. It’s a ridiculous standard to constantly have to rename things that the modern sensibilities find offensive.

You’re not wrong there forcesensitivejames2003. With the current increase in third party SW figures I have a strange feeling this won’t be the only Slave Leia we see.

She has an official in-canon/licensing designation: Huttslayer Leia. Last I researched, there is no actual mandate blocking the use of this appearance in media or merchandise.

Also important to note this specifically mainly came about because some random guy wanted to make a viral video for attention several years ago.

It’s all about how you frame it. I’m sure they went with Hutt Slayer because it sounds more empowering rather than Jabba’s Prisoner because in their eyes it’s demoralizing. She will always be Slave Leia to me. Most cosplayers who wear the costume and keep it alive are not offended by the name.
