Yeah Wolverine as leader is weird. I always think of him as too much of a rogue to lead a team. But I think we all know they're just doing that to capitalize off Wolverine's popularity. The sad thing is future generations who like Crix and myself know more from cartoons than the comics may think he should be the leader.

Yeah, Wolverine is kind of a victim of his own success. Everyone liked him at first because he was a loner and an anti-hero. They liked him because he gave the leaders (Scott and Charles) a hard time when no one else would. Then he got a featured role in the movie...I wouldnt' say his part was bigger than Cyclops in part 1...they tried to keep it pretty even. But then in part 2 and 3 he really steals the show from Cyclops. So now he's the main X-Man and people are going to get sick of him the same way they got sick of Cyclops and go for another rouge.

agreed. can't see Wolvie ever being a leader. too much of a lone wolf (i.e. "you stay here while i go SNIKT these guys").
we shall see.

Totally agree. Wolverine is leader just because of fan popularity. It doesn't match his personality at all. I don't expect them to keep Cyclops or Storm as the leader forever, they've got to move on and try new things, but there's got to be someone more team-oriented than Wolverine. Maybe Iceman? Or Beast? I don't read the current comics so I wouldn't really know...but there's got to be someone! :)

IMO, Storm was always the best leader and i have a hard time seeing her turning her back on the rest of the X-Men.

oh well, kind of have to expect this 'toon not to be completely faithful to the comic book mythos.

Storm ? Cyclops ?

I think Beast is the most suitable leader next to Xavier.

Hell yeah Cyclops is cool. He is the Leonardo of the X-Men, or Leonardo is the Cyclops of the Ninja Turtles whichever you prefer. It is a shame that Cyclops got the shaft in the movies but those of us who read the comics know better.
If it comes down to Cyclops or Wolverine, the ladies always go with Cyke. What did Jean say to Logan in the first movie, the girls flirt with the bad boy but go home with the nice guy, or something like that.
Is Cyclops the coolest, no, but Cyclops is maybe the most important member of the team.

I thought Cyclops was going to finally have a bigger part in X3 but James Marsden couldn't commit to a lot of shooting time so he pretty much squashed the character that time out himself. I can't help but think it would have been him saving the day at the end of the movie if he hadn't had to work on Superman Returns.

I'm with you there. I thought Cyclops would get his due in the 3rd film considering he was pretty much gone from X2 after he and Prof X were kidnapped.
Storywise it would have made more sense if it was Cyclops and Wolverine teaming up to take down Dark Phoenix at the end in my opinion. Those were the two people who loved her the most.
In the comics it was pretty much down to Jean and Cyclops at the end of the Dark Phoenix Saga and it was the love shared between the two of them that ended up defeating Phoenix.
I guess it's true, all you need is love. :peace

I have to agree with this. Bad boys are fun to date...once or twice. But the stupid caveman-ape act gets old very quickly. I couldn't imagine waking up every morning to someone like that. Stability, understanding and intelligence is more important, and Cyke has that over Wolverine in spades.
