Also Hal Jordan was so cool in the written version. As a Chuck Yeager fan I loved seeing them tie him into Hal's life as an influence.

Huge amounts of story were omitted from the animated "New Frontiers". But I was expecting this. It was only 90 minutes. I knew stuff was going to be left out. But they really gutted it. it's an outline of New Frontiers. Anyone who has seen the cartoon but not read the story, you're missing out.

The last shot before credits always pisses me off. It intentionally leaves Superman and Batman out of the JLA. When DC:New Frontiers hit video there was real possibility that George Miller's JLA film was going to happen, but without Batman and Superman. So groundwork was being laid to redefine the JLA.

That by itself took a whole star off for me.

Thank you!

We just need Gail Simone to write for WW, she really seems to be the only writer that gets the complexity of WW.

Agreed. What she has done with the Secret Six is amazing.

Wonder Woman 195-226 are anthologized in these books.

Down to Earth
Bitter Rivals
Eyes of the Gorgon
Land of the Dead
Mission's End

There's also a graphic novel called The Hiketeia which he wrote just before that run. None of it is as bloody as those movies, but it wouldn't be hard to get them up there.

Good list. Think I will add them to my list. :)

Oh I have Kingdom COme !!! AWESOME PIECE !

Trinity I was reading in floppies and I kinda got lost in it... so I stopped.

Matt Wagner is a great writer. He also wrote a Superman/Batman limited series "World's Finest" I liked a lot. I read Grendal here and there, but I was always coming in the middle of a story.

I'm scheduled to be working on this. Will keep all posted.

You do promotional photography, correct?

If anyone in this thread has not read New Frontiers then do yourself a favor and get the two trades, you will not be dissapointed.

I was blown away by the animated movie, but it never occurred to me that it was based on an existing comic book story. :slap :thwak

/me heads to amazon.com in shame :monkey2

I didn't like the movie, but I will definitely be reading it now.

All great stuff but The Hiketeia is one of my all time favorite WW stories, not graphically violent but well written. Great stuff.

But yeah just pick up the fight between Superman and WW when she has to "take care" of Max Lord, that's the ____ right there......

Agreed, on both counts.

"How do I stop you?"

"You have to kill me."

...

GREAT fight. Awesome resolution with her taking out Max Lord.

But the aftermath was really a letdown. The world is shocked that WW killed Superman's puppet-master. Even Batman, who got his ass handed to him, resents what WW did. That stuff was a contrived lead-in to Infinite Crisis. :slap

Amazons Attack, on the other hand, was full of win.

I expected it from both of them, but I was disappointed with Batman. I liked Infinite Crisis though, and it was all worth it for the scene at the beginning of Meltzer's first issue of Justice League of America, with the three of them sitting around the table in the Batcave.

Thanks. :duff

DC rules.

Well I just got a little more interested!

Elizabeth Hurley Tweeted today that she has joined Adrianne Palicki NBC's "Wonder Woman," a new series pilot from David E. Kelley ("Boston Legal," "Ally McBeal," NBC's "Harry's Law").

She said: "Thrilled to be doing the NBC pilot Wonder Woman. I'll be playing the evil villain. Can't wait."

The series pilot is a reinvention of the iconic DC Comics title in which Wonder Woman – a/k/a Diana Prince – is a vigilante crime fighter in Los Angeles but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life.

Kelley and Bill D'Elia ("Boston Legal," "The Practice") are the executive producers. The pilot was written by Kelley and will be directed by Jeffrey Reiner (NBC's "The Event"). "Wonder Woman" is from David E Kelley Productions and Warner Bros. Television.

Hurley, an English model, is best known as an actress for her roles in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery and Bedazzled.

Well if that script is still in use then it doesn't matter who's casted in this show. I'm still hoping that the leaked script was just a horrible horrible joke...........

WW stories that go the 'secret identity' route are usually the ones that suck. The new TV series gives her three identities. 3xFail. I also expect WW to get pulled into a lot of courtroom drama because that's what David Kelley likes.

I wish I could throw this whole idea away and move the show to a premium cable channel like HBO or showtime where they would spend the money and hire the writers to do this properly. I'd rather see 10 or 11 episodes of a grand epic than 23 episodes of eating ice-cr3am and dishing on relationships.

This is WW chance to take her place beside Superman and Batman. They're gonna blow it.
