I'd only bank on one more X-Babe for this line, since its a Marvel Ladies line not an X-Men specific one. Any other mutant passed that one X-Babe could possibly be something like the Scarlet Witch who is a mutant but technically more of an Avenger than anything else. I still say we get One more X-Babe and Two Avengers to finish out the line.

Theres a reason why adam inst designing for them anymore, and ended with women of the DC series universe 1.

The quality of DC Direct isn't as bad as people like to make it out to be. Given how much different the Black Cat drawing by Hughes looks from the sculpture we've seen, one could say that SS isn't all that good on getting things right. The same could be said for the MJ and White Queen comiquettes too. Then there's the gold/red problem on the Iron Man punches the ground statue. Again, SS has it's issues too. So does that mean everything the puts out looks like crap? No it doesn't. Similarly, everything that DC Direct puts out doesn't look like crap and isn't over priced when you compare it to other companies prices.

As for the split between Hughes and DC Direct, best to let AH! address that directly rather than make idle speculations.

The Whole line of Women of DC is garbage (except catwomen) the sclupts are awsome!... dont get me wrong but the paint jobs are burtal... i collected that line up to zantana. (broke the straw on my back!) I got so sick of poor paint appz... poision ivy... wonder woman... zatana... super girl... power girl at that time, hawk girl, catwoman were the only 2 with decent paint application. And im taking the paint appication looks like a 10 year old did it.

So why did i contiune to buy? Catwoman was so well done id hope the other would look great also.... Besides im a big adam hughes fan back when he drew covers, going 10 years back.

I personally havent been impressed with DC Direct.... I just dont collect sideshow, i have half bowen and some HH.


Compare a any bowen bust out there to a Women of DC..... The quality on this line doesnt compare.. If i were AH! i would be upset, because thats a burtal representation of the artwork.. PAINT AND SCULPT!

I do like DC directs batman line... very well done, BUT THERES NO COLOR!.. there all mono chorme!... lol. Also this is my personal point of view, and i have bought there statues in the pass, but there is a reason why ive stopped buying.

This may not be the place to defend DCD, but I have all the Women of DC busts and only supergirl is deficient as far as paint aps. I have a lot of DCD stuff and most of it is just as good as GG or SSC as far as the paint goes.

I own a wide variety of statues/comiquettes and so forth from all the big companies and not so big ones. In my opinion, the average quality of the stuff I've gotten from DC Direct is on par with the average quality of pieces from other companies. Some of it is good, other stuff not so good. Pretty much the same as for all companies.

Yep, it's not heresay - DarthSaffron is about as close to the horse's mouth as you can get.

I've also heard directly from others that work with DCD that they can be difficult.

And just try to talk to them at SDCC, I've found their representatives to be condescending and dismissive.

Buddy read the title of the thread... im talking about AH's work and The Women of DC universe, my comment was towards that product and comparing that to SS line. Hell i think some of the DC direct dioramas are awsome, but the WOMEN OF DC UNIVERSE doesnt represent quality of the artist, in my opinion.

And all companies have there ups and downs look at the ss pirates of the caribean jack black.... OMG!..

All said in done i think ss has done a great job of bringing AH's art to life. I cant complain..

As far as I know Adam is still on exclusive contract to work for DC, specifically on All-Star Wonder Woman. Has that changed?
