If they do a Jean and Jean has to be in Phoenix garb, I hope they change it up just a little bit by making it the white Phoenix costume.

Kinda disappointed to see all the support in the poll for She-Hulk. Maybe it's because I've never given her character a chance...I hear her book is really good. I was surprised to see Ms. Marvel kind of low. I wouldn't mind a comiquette of her at all.

Hey, I'm working on the next two designs as I type this... We're trying our best!

As for announcing them all, lemme just say that the list I currently have has changed about 5 times. Either MARVEL or Sideshow will decide that maybe character Y might be better than character X, who was put on the list months ago.

Since they change their minds on characters before we go to the production, I guess they feel they don't want to get everyone excited about, say, AUNT MAY, and then have them get angry when they change their minds and decide to go with AGATHA HARKNESS after they have a really fun Hallowe'en, or too much caffeine late at night or something.

Let me put it this way... we wish there was enough time and resources to do ALL the mighty MARVEL babes. But we can't, so there's a certain amount if UNCERTAINTY about which gals should be comiquetted first.

Also, kudos to this thread because every time I click on it I see the beautiful red head dressed like Phoenix.....ahh......you how hard it is to find a natural good looking redhead? Its like finding a unicorn.....really. They are usually homely or overly freckled or worse......even though I'm pretty sure the front page gal isn't a natural redhead its nice to know that they exist even if I'm looking at a bottled interpretation of one.........but I digress....

Thanks for your response Adam! It's nice to get creative insight on to how things work at Sideshow/Marvel.

Curious though, how much creative control in the design process do you have? Do you just go ape wild on any pose/costume imaginable for the character or do they suggest what they want?

What I can't wait for is SS saying that after Adam does 6 Marvel comiquettes, that they've finally hammered a deal with DC, and Adam starts doing the next 6 DC babes! Can you imagine! First up would be Wonder Woman of course!

Well, I try to suggest what costume I personally like, regardless of what that character is wearing this month. Costumes have changed so much for many of these MARVEL females. What do you choose? A nice iconic one? Their first one? The most recent one? It's a tough call.

My theory is THIS... MARVEL probably wants the most current costume, to keep the product timely. That's how DC usually works, anyways. My thought is, the person spending the $125 on the comiquette is probably NOT some kid reading the latest comics, but an adult fan with collectible cash to burn. An adult fan, more likely than not, has been reading MARVEL comics for years, and probably has a favorite version of that character that goes back a few years.

That being said, my first pass at the character will USUALLY feature my personal favorite costume or era for that character. I'll only change when the bean-counters at the House of Ideas beat me down...
