what's going on here?

is this a comparison to show us what the statue SHOULD look like...or is the one on the RIGHT what it DOES look like?

confused

It's just a comparison shot someone did to see what a 'perfect' CR Supes would look like. (of course it's just a photoshopped head on the CM body, but it does give you an idea of what it could have, or more likely @ $2000, SHOULD have been). It shows just how far off that headsculpt really is.

Overall, I think they did an 'okay' job on it. It could have been tweaked a little more, but I guess George didn't want to shell out another $5K or so on a new head sculpt. Which I think is pretty sad, considering how many he could have sold if they just got the headsculpt right. The photoshop also changed the color of the suit to what a lot of people believe is the correct shade of blue. And finally, the 'S' on his chest is enlarged to match the movie suit.

did you do the photoshopping?...if so...a job well done

The one on the right is infact PERFECT ... a shame $2,000 doesn't buy us perfection

Supes is MY MAN but I will be passing on this piece.

The face is about as close as you can get. The volume and shape of the hair is what needs adjusting.

Yep, I'm fine with the sculpt, the pose, even the too big shorts. But the color of the outfit and shape of the shield are BUGGGGING me.

I completely agree with you Dave! I've always wanted the "perfect" Christopher Reeve figure or statue, and the photoshopped one is it! Too bad it won't be the one released for $2,000!

The cm looks like a Bizarro,..too skinny Reeve,...they failed again on the likeness,.

I agree with the "too skinny" point. Maybe I'm wrong, but the SDCC pics seemed to show a bulkier version. For the price they're going to ask, the piece will have to be perfect (to my eyes) for me to buy it.

I don't care as much about the fidelity to the movies, I'd rather have it look like a cross between the movies and the comics. That way I could have a great mixed media Superman statue. It's too bad the DC Direct "museum quality" Superman that came out a few years ago was so bad.

I love this statue as is and able to look past its faults. I just wish it was a little less expensive. But thats the name of the game...

I'd pay $1000-$1100 (shipped) but nothing close to $2000 for something that's inaccurate. Imo their stuff is always about $800-$900 overpriced.

For real. Especially after seeing some great Pf's going up for sale between $200-250 shipped in the commerce section. Paying $2000 for something that is almost the same size. Just can't pull the trigger...

Why does everyone think Reeve was built like an '80s Schwarzennegger? If anything the CMQ body is TOO bulky to be an accurate Reeve.
