I love how on CBD, everyone says how amazing all CM pieces are. Its like they are afraid to upset each others feelings. Not once has any member said thier pieces look like crap.

Finally ASH very well spoke, they denied me membership on there board because they did not want me to show my work.
and to think I offered George to do the Superman sculpture.

You should have done it Bobby. Yours is spot in Reeve, thiers looks like a stand in. Way to pay respects to a hero.

Part of the problem with those photos is the lighting and barrel distortion of the camera lens. Still, I'd be mighty disappointed if I had dropped 2K on that. The likeness may in fact be slightly better in the final piece, but the eyes, lashes, and eyebrows all conspire against it. The monochrome skintone makes him look like a sweaty mannequin.

Actually that turned out better than the original presentation. The first one was cool but there was something off and they fixed it, it was the nose and mouth. They made the mouth longer and tweaked the nose. The sculpt is perfect.

It only needs two simple mods to make it perfect. They need someone really good in applying makeup and fill the eyebrows and the eyelashes. When you look at the "before" and "after" product, you'll notice the eyes were fuller on the original superman. The Final version wasnt...it was all simply just rooted hair and it wasnt full so it makes it look funny. But, by trimming those eyelashes and applying makeup to lashes and the eyebrows and make them fuller...This is spot on. I used my pencil to cover the eyes on my PC monitor and the final piece is better than the first one shown. By just using rooted eyebrows and eyelashes and since it wasnt full...that's where it looks funny. But it can be simply fixed by a good makeup artist. The other thing is simply futzing the cape. I thought at first there was something wrong cause it looks like a collar but I looked at the first version and I noticed that the collar was tucked in and the guy who owns the statue didnt do it. Otherwise, I think the final product turned out better than the one that was originally shown. if I had the money, I would buy it in a heartbeat...I dont though so I'm with the league that's waiting for Hot toys to release the figure:monkey2

I'm sorry but that sculpt is not perfect. Eyes too far apart, nose too thin and the features are just too pointy. Anyone who thinks this looks good needs to go to the opticians pronto.

That's the message people!! don't you get it those are the kind of people that are making this krap! how in the world after seeing Bobby C sculpts they denied the job to him??............ this statue is garbage and you people think the problem is lightning???......come one!!! i bet a 1K hot toys diminished 1/6 scale figure will break this piece in two!! Shame Shame!!:pfft: ohh and not to mention Bobby's statue!.........

Wow man...for 2K that really is a "here's half the work done now you do the rest" sculpt!!! Do they expect us to trim the freaky eyelashes and eyebrow so it looks normal? Also whats with that jaw, its way off. He looks like hes sweating as well....The hair is also quite bad...it needs a re comb. I know promo/prototype pics are different to the ones in hand but c'mon. Lol, I know a lot of people are thinking it but Hot Toys will have more detail, likeness and a much better representation of Chris Reeves as Superman than this 2K worth sculpt. Roll on Hot Toys....cannot wait !!!!!

I hate how cm expects the customer to customise the piece when it arrives. The eyelashes need a trim and the hair needs tidying alot. Why wouldn't they do that themselves. For the money they ask it should look good out of the box. I kinda hoped this would turn out great as I would have quite liked one.

Whao, last year at comic-con this and the '89 bat-wing stole the show imo. That bares no resemblance of Reeve in my honest opinion. I've seen a 1/4 Reeve Supes on statueforum that is much better and with Bob Causey making his, this CM shall fall way behind.

arrrgg!!! I should be more careful when I say perfect, I meant it in a expressive and non-literal sense but its a poor choice of words when I guess when you're specifically talking about likeness. Sure it could use a tweak or two. Here's a quick photoshop I did by filling the eyes and tweaking the twirly Hair on the forehead. darkened the hair just a tad bit. All I pretty much use is the burn tool. I used the cloning tool to trim the eyelashes. As I mentioned, if you can just get a good makeup artist to make the eyebrows and eyes fuller since they used rooted hair, it would look perfec...er...much better...You know what I mean. Its just a simple mod but I believe it's a home run as far a good Chris Reeves statue.

Yes, BobbyC has the best likeness I've ever seen of Chris Reeves, but please...just because this was made by someone else and its expensive, To call this crap is insane.

If I had the money, I would defiinitely buy this.

I meant in the pics posted on the link a page back. It looks like it has white paint slop all over. I thought these things used glass eyes.

The eyes do look strange, but is it me or are his eyelashes extremely long?
