Your camera is not the problem you will need to get a professional photographer to get close to what CM did, but after looking at the bone structure of the face is going to be difficult. hope i am wrong....:dunno

i think your right but damn, i tell you i take a pic of lets say my endo bust, or thor, or hell even my dog, and what i see in the pics is what is saw when i took them, and yet here what i see in my pic is not what i see in person, so confusing and im not trying to make excuses guys, as i stated in cbd, i felt that the nose and chin are a bit too long, even in the toyfair proto i thought the same,

Are you seriously confused?:thud:

I admired Chris Reeve's portrayal. That's why I'm happy to pick the piece up and add my weight to the Reeve foundation donation.

Does that make your point null and void?

Want to know what the artist who worked on the statue thinks about the final piece?
***Warning*** - you may not like this and will have to ban him from your forum if he's a member. LOL.

His post sums up what most of us with an ounce of attention to detail think. Here's what he said:

"WTF!".

My thoughts exactly Mr Hill.

His comments refer to a comparison shot between an in-hand picture and a professional photograph.

Your inferring more meaning than is possible from his post.

Perhaps since you've now clesrly added mind reading to your extensive lists of talents (see also "cking - leather jacket alterations"), you can tell me what three lettered acronym describes my thoughts towards you right now?

GFY.

:rotfl
I obviously hit a nerve!

Thank god I didn't pre-order this train wreck of a statue. Enjoy yours though. It will look great next to your "Who the F*&K is that supposed to be" Indiana Jones maquette.

Jim Bowers from Capedwonder (who is actually credited in the booklet included with the statue) is very glad he didn't order one of these either because like many of us, he doesn't know "WTF" happened to it either.

I'd be happy to customise your CM Indiana Jones by removing the jacket for you since you clearly have a high opinion of my skills. LOL. I took no hesitation in throwing that shoddy thing in the trash. Statue looked a lot better without it (from the head down of course).

Noted and agreed. I have no desire to continue this anyway.
In a nutshell, you either like these things or you don't.
Those who don't like it are never going to convince those who do that they're wrong and vice versa.
It's an agree to disagree situation. Thanks for the wake-up call.

Chris

Would you guys take your pissing contest elsewhere...:gah:

I like the piece, but it is out of my range. Anything over $1000 is a little too rich for me at this point in time.

I think it's time for the mods to conduct a purge of this website/members...I don't like the way it's headed...but maybe that's just me.

Ahhh...the good ol' days of years past. *sigh*

It doesn't look half bad to me. It's a much better Superman than the museum quality Superman from DC Direct. But it's not worth the price for me.

(On the other hand the Enterprise in the background was worth every penny to me and I still love mine as much as the day I got it.)

It would be nice to get something like this (premium format / museum quality) that was more like the generic comic version or maybe the Alex Ross version for a reasonable price (under $400). I'm sorely lacking a Superman like that in my collection.

Dave, what are your impressions of Supes now that you have him in hand? Would love to hear your thoughts about this piece and how does it compare to the one previewed at the con last year?

Same here. I was at SDCC last year and thought it looked amazing in person. I didn't think CM needed to change from that. If you think the production is very close to the one at SDCC, I would be convince to get one.
