When the show was entirely about Boba, everyone was up in arms that it sucked/was boring/didn't like it/whatever. Now the show puts out two episodes without him but are the furthest thing from boring and everyone is up in arms that they want Boba back.

I swear, it's like some of you just don't want to like Star Wars anymore.
Everyone? Certainly not.

Most are just pointing and laughing at the hypocrisy that this show is about Boba and doesn't feature Boba in the latest episodes.

Tell me who wants Boba back front and center so they can be shamed without mercy.

So what figures can we expect to:
1. Be announced
2. Be released
After Chinese New Year.

I'm holding out hope for Snowspeeder Luke to be released soon.

I keep forgetting Snowspeeder Luke is coming lol, I preordered it in August 2020, it'll almost certainly be 2 years or close to it by the time I get it in hand even if it's released soon in HK.

Because they didn't make a show about Boba Fett. They made a show about a completely incompetent idiot that didn't look or act like Fett. But Lucasfilm just hijacked his name so they would have a built-in audience knowing he has millions of fans. Fett is a mysterious, proficient, cold blooded, feared killer bounty hunter and the character on BOBF is none of those things. He walks around most of the show carrying his helmet and hasn't even fired his blaster once with six episodes down and only one to go. It's asinine nonsense.

Disney Lucasfilm has destroyed every single legacy character they have handled thus far and it's not some accident or coincidence it's an agenda. If you don't believe that, read about the changes made to Galaxy's Edge at the insistence of Kathleen Kennedy.

I don't know, I personally think that's nonsense. I say this respectfully, but it sounds like you just don't like this version of Boba. I know in the old books and video games he did some really cool stuff and was to be feared - I liked all of that too. But that's not what this Boba is.

I think they perfectly explained it when he told Fennec he was tired of jobs that were going to get him killed and he just wanted stability and to work for himself. I think that's totally believable - how many people don't want bosses in our world? I also thought it was believable that they chose to make him benevolent and rule with respect instead of fear. Cad Bane probably takes down even the old Boba. Cad Bane took on Obi-Wan and Anakin and lived, Boba got yeeted by a not fully trained Luke Skywalker. So what would stop someone from hiring Cad Bane plus other bounty hunters and just wiping him out? I think him trying to make allies makes sense.

In an age where people don't know if Disney will let the Bernthal Punisher make a comeback because of how dark he was, I don't think there was ever a chance of getting a cold blooded killer in Boba Fett. I find this version believable and it works for me. I legitimately don't want to hate Star Wars. I want to enjoy it. There's enough to hate in the real world.

I hated what they did with Luke, Leia and Han. I hated what they did with Chewie and Lando. The movies haven't treated our legacy heroes kindly. But the TV shows, I think, have done well. We'll see what happens with Kenobi. I'll be livid if they screw up that character, but again, Star Wars has always been a huge part of my life. I don't want to hate everything. I want to try and like it unless they really screw up characters, which I don't think they've done with Boba. I know you disagree.

Again, I am trying to be respectfully. I understand the difference in opinion. I just don't agree with this being so terrible, even though I have agreed they have done the character dirty by not even focusing on him in a limited series.

Benevolent Boba

It's like two completely different characters; "Mando" Fett and "BoBF" Fett.
I get it. I know this is probably what people wanted, him just murdering people in cold blood, but I just don't see Disney signing off on that.

It kind of seems that he chilled out once he had his armor back, aside from killing Fortuna. Maybe because he didn't want to end up like his father...dead? He's the only one who didn't storm Gideon's cruiser, so maybe that was the start of the change in his priorities?

Like I said in another post, I'm just trying to find ways not to hate it, because I don't want to hate everything Star Wars. I send enough vitriol towards the sequels to last a lifetime.

Was that the last time he used his blaster? Has he even used it in this series? Or even his jetpack or jetpack rocket? I remember he used his wrist rockets in Ep1.

Jetpack after the "high speed" speeder chase, no jetpack rocket and no blaster though

Crazy to think about when were coming up to the season finale in 5 days.

I think the takeaway here is that we got baited and switched.

As Ferguson notes above in so many words, they used Fett's name to rope us in and then we got a whole new character! Why bother doing that? Mando was new, we liked him just fine. If you want to introduce someone new, okay do that! But baiting and switching is just bulls***.

We got a crime lord who does not do crimes. Thats pretty lol-tacular right there.

I want the Fett who, when Dengar remarked that wow, no wonder Fett didnt show his face after seeing him unhelmed, put his helmet back on and snarled "This IS my face." That guy. I want him back.

"We'll see what happens with Kenobi. I'll be livid if they screw up that character"

If you think they won't neuter Darth Vader, you'd best be thinking again. Lava jokes to the side.... they'll do it if it suits their purposes.

The very guy who kills billions with one strike. Let's make him kinder and gentler. Definitely what people want to see.

Kenobi is pretty polite so he personally will probably escape. Vader, though.... we'll make him someone else.

Darth Vader's most brutal scene on screen is during a film produced by Disney. That argument makes zero sense.

Hayden got enough grief and basically quit acting over the crap he got for playing Anakin. No way he came back just to get that same treatment again.

There's legitimate credence to being unhappy with the way Boba is being portrayed, even though I don't agree with it, I've said a million times already there's validity to the complaints, even if I think they're unfair. But what's unfair is assuming Kenobi/Vader are going to be ruined before the show even hits the screen.

Disney isn't giving up the franchise, this is reality now. Vote with your wallet and don't give them money if you hate the product. But give it a chance, jeez.

In the context of Star Wars, I think Book of Boba has some fantastic moments especially in the last two episodes. Some of my favorite Star Wars moments already in a long time.
In the context of Boba’s story, I am confused and curious about Boba’s direction, just observing for the time being.
Seems like everyone has valid opinions of the show, positive and negative.
I’m super excited by the last two episodes but they may or may not have anything to do with Boba himself. Curious how they’re going to end this season.

I don't think it's even nostalgia for OT Boba, we just want the Boba from Mando season 2.

No issue with him not wanting to kill for despots and dictators anymore. He can develop and grow while still maintaining those core character traits fans associate with Boba.

The start of episode 5 showed Mando still willing to get his hands dirty. Just give us the same with Boba. Keep the helmet on when not with his inner circle and be ruthless with his enemies.

"No way [Christensen] came back just to get that same treatment again."

You know, I bet Tem Morrison thought the exact same thing! "NO WAY would they call me back after decades, just to ruin my iconic character! I was treated so well during season 2 of Mando, I bet this will be more of the same! Cant wait!" Poor guy.

Your problem is that Disney thinks that making these characters face 180 degrees from what they were, is somehow what the audience wants. Some change, okay. But this is ridiculous. Its too much and much too fast.

I hope Kenobi turns out great. But see, this is what happens when you break people's trust over and over: they stop having confidence in you. Its a big problem for Disney. And so I would not bet one dollar that Kenobi and especially Vader will be handled well. Its my way of protecting myself from further disappointment. Believe me, I want to be wrong.

What they did to Boba is the small screen version of making Leia fly through space with no space suit.

ASIDE: Y'all please do not take what I'm saying personally, I'm just so annoyed at this show right now and the people who made it. My ire is not aimed at anyone here, opinions will differ.

I don’t read the Disney continuity comics or books so can anyone tell me if their Portrayal of fett clashes with book of boba?
