Hot toys fail.
I remember when the day before SDCC we would get heaps of leaks and the hype would be so high for pics.
Now at this very moment,Hot toys are losing all momentum with me.
So many amazing characters from the OT and PT that Star wars fans are crying out for,and still another Mando and Grogu,or Bad Batch Clones for a toon that was just sub par.
God hot toys,Inart will eat u up real quick.

Well it's Hot Toys. They rarely make what fans truly want. :(

The last year has been brutal for Star Wars shows and mostly brutal for Star Wars Hot Toys announcements. Remember how excited people were right after Mandalorian Season 2 ended? Remember that? This is how franchises and toy lines die off.

This is the worst SW Hot Toys have ever been imho, ironically at a time when they're making more figures than ever. They've definitely taken the quantity over quality approach. I can only attribute it to an influx of new collectors, post-Mando, who will buy anything up they offer. Then you have all these YouTube channels (I'm not talking about Jedha here!) that bang on about every release ''knocking it out of the park'' and Hot Toys ''bringing the magic'', ''spilling my coffee'' blah blah blah, getting the new breed of collectors excited that what they're being offered is fresh and unique. When we all know it's just another lazy re-paint, re-use of parts or re-release. They've become lazy and exploitative, they've become Hasbro.

Damn right about InArt. Even as a long-time Star Wars only collector I'm thinking of switching allegiances to a LOTR line from InArt, only picking up the essential Star Wars HT figures.

HT losing a lot of sculptors is true. It's really up to them to get new talent. I don't think BD Vader is ready. They can really make the fan base happy with a Mace or Padme.

I will 100% buy Gamorreans, Krrsantan and Inquisitors (besides 3rd) if they look good.

Just like last year, it seems HT has sent the low priority SW prototypes to SS. I think most of the prototypes weren't even sent back to HK since Celebration.

Disney will learn.

I know we try and block out the ST as much as possible but one thing that sticks with me is that by the time Rise of Skywalker came out, Star Wars merch was dead. My buddy is a big Black Series guy and he said that and other merchandise became peg warmers while the movie was still in theaters…something he’d never seen in 30 years of collecting Star Wars toys.

Outside of Force Awakens and Rogue One stuff, Disney almost completely killed the thing that Lucas himself sold ROTJ out for - toys, memorabilia and money. Then Mandarlorian came along and suddenly all the people with money came back. Then Disney got ambitious again.

Once they realize this stuff isn’t selling, they’ll start pandering to us again. Disney can pretend to be woke (and to many extents, they are) all they want but a lot of it is just virtue signaling with them. At the end of the day, they care about money above all.

Personally speaking, I think The Bad Batch was good and would have been great without Omega. I think Kenobi was good and would have been great without Reva. They have to realize they’re losing dollars over this stuff. I think that’s why they allowed a scene like Vader torturing Obi-Wan in fire. If they weren’t worried about bringing back some wallets no way they allow that.

I think eventually the tide will turn back.

Star Wars films and series being released is a good thing for collectors and collectible companies. Even bad Star Wars (I'm looking at you TLJ:bat2:) helps promote the brand, because there will always be people who like everything named Star Wars. And, as strange that might be, that is in fact a good thing for all of us, that means there is interest in making Star Wars stuff from the cheapest keychains and stickers, through Hasbro figures to high end Hot Toys figures, Sideshow statues, busts etc. Without Disney Star Wars we'd most likely be in the desert that was the 90's. I only wish Disney would consider more the scripts, stories and directing, than the PC agenda.

This might be the worst showing ever for hot toys. The only interesting thing for me are the pit droids that I won’t spend $200+ for. So no mace, padme, or wave 2, nothing ot, just the same old tired prototypes we’ve seen.

Clearly their weakest showing ever when it comes to Star Wars. 90% of products we've already seen at an event or another. A few figures that are already in collector hands for weeks as well.

When is phase 2 supposed to be?

Phase 2 should be sometime in August, 2nd or 3rd week I think?

If you're asking about the AoTC Anniversary Phase 2, they never gave us an official date, just saying that a second wave apart of the AoTC anniversary was going to happen.

Think most assumed it would be relatively close to Phase 1. At this point I feel like it will drop on some random day later this year, or not at all.
