Pretty cool that the recently announced Kenobi figure should release just in time for the 15th anniversary by Hot Toys current standard.

Ok, this reminds me: I hereby retract my earlier assessment of Angelo2113 s being "full of it" when he mentioned a TBB full display. Sorry, Angelo.

No worries! I walked by the booth during setup that day but they were still displaying and were asking not to take photos. Then the booth I worked at was crowded for the first few days but I was able to finally take a photo and post it.

Mando Luke was revealed on August 2nd last year as part of Phase 2.

Yes, they way they worded it, it sounded like there will be 2 phases to the Summer Showcase. I guess Phase 2 is in August. They called it the Summer Night Showcase last year.

Yeah, seeing as we got the Black Boba, I was thinking there was a chance that Hot Toys would venture out more into the books, comics and video games. I'm guessing Disney's hand plays the most into Hot Toys options.....licensing and rights.

As far as next figure? Probably another helmeted helping. Battle damaged Darth? With Hot Toys losing sculptors supposedly and being a bit lazy, my hopes are not that high. I was right about predicting the purge trooper and then bam.....it came out.

Figs I'm waiting on in terms of shows that have streamed :

Mando S1 - Greef Karga, Migs Mayfeld.
Mando S2 - Cobb Vanth
BOBF - Maybe Cobb Vanth, but would rather the S2/Mando version with Boba's armor. Would definitely take Max Rebo, but that is not happening anytime soon.

Knowing Hot Toys, the Purge Trooper would be most likely.

Yeah not a statue guy unfortunately, I did consider it but it was just too big and too pricey.

Anyone remember how HT did it for the 2nd Summer event last year? Did they start announcing figures weekly going into the event and count them as the wave 2 of their event or did they announced a bunch of new figures all at one at the event? It was the Summer Night Showcase or something.

I don't know why they do not include the initial 3 "exclusives" as Phase 1. They promote it as Summer Showcase so idk, whatever.

Phase 2 last year was on Aug 1st.

Now from Phase 1 they had on display Batman XE and King Shark, but didn't put them up for PO until Batman in Phase 2 then Shark on Aug 10. Of course Red Guardian, Nightwing and Purple Rain Miles SM never went up for PO.

Looking at HT FB album, Summer Showcase 2021 started on July 5 with 3, July 15th Phase 1 with 6, Aug 1st Phase 2 with 4 (not counting deluxe of same figure).

Phase 2 showed off Zemo, Zombie Cap and Crosshair, none of which went on PO. I think Zemo and Crosshair first appeared at Sideshow Con in May?

Phase 2 is out. Getting 1 from each Phase. Still waiting on the Wave 2 of ATOC collection They can push Mace to ROTS collection if they need to but Padme is now or never. They seem to have trouble with the Portman sculpt. It's still blurred with Mighty Thor. At this point, I don't mind if they just tweak the MT face and announce a Padme.

I don't have a problem with Queen making 1/6 Star Wars figures but their infrastructure is far less robust than even Hot Toys. With Queen I think you would just see redos of the usual suspects, Luke, Vader, Leia,.....maybe they could establish a better relationship with that old grump Harrison Ford

Can't care less about that grandpa. I need background characters, aliens, robots. That is SW for me. Sideshow could do them once, but that time is long gone.
