Yeah, I think Hot Toys sees the writing on the wall that Marvel is fading. Yeah, these movies are still making money but the MCU is definitely not a cultural phenomenon anymore, and I’d be willing to guess money from merchandise and collectibles is probably reversing course.

Guardians 3 seems to be the last film that the long time fans are excited about, so I’m guessing Hot Toys is going to try and capitalize while the iron is still hot.

I doubt this affects May 4th announcements.

This might be their last big money maker (MCU wise) until the next Holland Spidey, so definitely see them going all in on this line. Lot of pressure on the MCU to get their **** together after how disappointing Phase 4 was for them. Fantastic Four must be a hit for them, they need to nail everything when it comes to that property.

Smart move going with Groot too as the first one up, he's a brand new figure and someone people will want to order right away as it is a "new look" for him.

EDIT: Phase 1 Fox? He has no one to go with and his Phase 2 armor is completely different.

Saying that..I'm obviously getting him.

Fox has two completely different armor sets for Phase 1 and 2, with different shades of red as well. Don't think they'd give him a Phase 2 helmet, as he never had any with this set of armor.

Surprised they didn't go with Phase 2, so he'd go with the Phase 2 Coruscant Guards.

Definitely weird, unless they plan to give us Phase 1 Coruscant Guard clones too

I just fail to see their logic sometimes. They have the 212th, any of the ROTS commanders, Wolffe, Fives & Echo, phase 2 Fox, Doom, the Wolfpack, all as options that would get people excited. Then they do literally the most uninspiring clone that no-one asked for. Do they just randomly pick these out of a hat or what?

Would have been nice to get a Commander Thorn that way the regular Coruscant guards have some company. But I guess we will see what we get tomorrow.

I could totally see that happening, just a huge hat with every clone in existence and they just keep pulling randomly.

I think they're just confident that these guys sell regardless who they give us, and is a easy profit for them with all the materials already there.

Funny thing is, that he also goes with AoTC Padme, as they worked together in the TCW movie.

Where did this picture actually originate from? Is there no way that it couldn’t just be a custom using one of those Phase 1 clones. This release just makes no sense.

Would be great if sideshow steals hot toys thunder and rereleases older in demand figures like greedo, snow trooper commander, and the cantina band. If hot toys flakes on rotj and gives us a bunch of clone repaints that would serve them right. I know sideshow doesn’t have a great track record with redoing older figures, but I’d rather not pay $750 for Greedo.
I officially have a bad feeling about this…

Nothing will happen. You will get a clone and Guardians of the Galaxy figures (re-costumed).

That would be amazing actually. They can start with the Gamorrean. They tend to do a sixth scale release for the day, and their Clone Wars line is dead in the water, so ROTJ would be a no-brainer. Didn’t they promise the Max Rebo Band several years back?
