yeah.. that's not one of the better ones. the ones i've recommended form something of a cohesive story ( the only exceptions there beeing Dark lord, and Labarynth of evil, they're just good ones)

Follow that list, go through the vong war, and dark nest trilogy, then hit the ones I recommended earlier.

There are people who a fans of star wars upto the original three movies and thats it and there are fans who like the OT AND some of the MANY aspects of the franchise.

I would take Malak over Tarkin in a second, i mean tarkin is an old bloke in a suit that didn't do ____, that'll cost $100-$120 and Malak is a Sith Lord in a unique costume with detailed jaw and lighstaber and would run for the same Price :huh

Wanting the OT figures is great, but there are better characters out there too who have fans too, and OT snobs just don't count them as fans because they like something in addition to or other than the original trilogy.

Original Trilogy snobs are fans of Star Wars upto the 1980's, where as real fans continue to follow the franchise into other mediums like comics and game.

aka quoted for truth. I kinda had a back and forth with a poster in regards to EU vs background characters. No disrespect to background lovers but you give me a choice between a background character and a cool looking EU Sith/Jedi/ Bounty Hunter and I'll go with the cool EU character EVERY single time.

I don't even know what half of that list is :huh Needless to say I would rather not see them made, but if they are then I get a break from buying :huh

True dat, thought he was Riker for a minute :lol

Your missing out!!! KOTOR was awesome and the story of Revan made it so. Malak is cool. Ven Zallow and Shae Vizla are a pair of cool looking Jedi (the former) and kick butt bounty hunter (the latter). But to each his own. I say that same about the Modol Nodes or Hammerhead. Gave me and the wallet a break. Now if EU stuff starts coming fast and furious there may be a prob:gah:

Though I'd like to amend that Ot snobs ALSO refuse to acknowledge ANYTHING outside the first three films.

Not liking it is fine, but choosing to ignore that it exists at all is just bad form.

It's almost like saying that everything that happens in the world doesn't...due to the fact that they didn't see it happen..... because they were inside their house....:cuckoo:

Thanks, lerath! I have only read one EU novel: The Courtship of Princess Leia, and I thought it was just okay.

Also give the Republic Commando books, Shatterpoint, and the Darth Bane books a try. For OT lovers the Tales from Mos Eisly amd Jabba's palace do a good job of fleshing the background kibble out.

For comics:
Legacy
Star Wars Rebellion (great Clone Wars stuff)
Star Wars Jedi (Dooku, Yoda, Mace, Aayla, Shaak Ti)
Dark Empire
Dark Times
Knights of the Old Republic (old series and new)
Jedi vs Sith
I can see you've been hit with a lot but any of the other things suggested (I didn't relist them on purpose) are great reads as well. I used to HATE EU until I grabbed a copy of Vector Prime from my father in law. I was hooked after that and the Vong War holds a special place in my heart.

The problem with the background characters is that they have insisted in telling each and every ones story. No stone left unturned

Vector Prime has got to be my fave EU book. Followed closely by Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina and then Tales from Jabba's Palace. That Dice Ibegon/Lak Sivrak story from the cantina is just so cool in every way. That's one of the reasons I would luv to see Sideshow make a Dice/Lak 2-pack.

:offtopic:
To get us back on topic, I think it is way past time for Sideshow to make a new 1/6th Maul and this time include some extra portraits with different facial expressions. Maybe they could include two different pairs of legs, one normal and one robotic. A couple of the extra portraits could have the longer horns and one of them could have one of the horns sliced off:dunno. If Sideshow wanted to go all out they could even tattoo his entire upper body. I just really want some more portraits for my original Sideshow Maul:pray:. It that to much to ask for?:)

If there isn't any OT icons in the pipeline really soon, I'd be tempted to quit this relationship.
2 certain Droids, Biker Scouts and Snowtroopers are soooo overdue ...

Boba and IG-88 are very much wanted and needed. But agreed that Tarkin is LONG overdue, it's bad. Hopefully we see Dooku in 2012. More Jabba's Palace aliens, Jedi and Cantina aliens are called for!

Vader was already released, Boba and IG-88 are bounty hunters - I am whimsically imperial!
I want OT troopers.

Edit: New Vader?!?

Yeah, there is supposed to be a new "deluxe" Vader in the pipeline. I'm assuming a removable helmet amongst other features, which makes me giddy with the possibility that Sideshow could make a meditation chamber. It would be awesome if the new vader could come with that pad he kneels on in Empire.

So now after seeing this new Sideshow Utapau Shadow Trooper, what do you freaks think, do you think Sideshow will make a Boba Fett in his white Prototype Armor? I haven't ordered the new Utapau fig but I would definitely get a proto Boba cuz I think that design and color scheme is very cool.
