He died better than Boba Fett. Hell, better than most of the Star Wars villains.

boba fett didn't die............:lecture

little known fact that once he was injested by the sarlaac pit after a few days while walking around he ran into a couple pit-droid mechanics that had aimlessly fallen into this trap years before. well boba struck up a conversation with these two little robots and promised them all kind of things like a hot oil bath, and some wild power sockets to plug into if they fixed his back pack. well being dumb little droids they fell for it & fixed his rocket & boba jetted the hell out of there. and the pit droids? well..........they are still there to this day feeling betrayed and very bitter............:monkey2

I love Barry.

Personally, I don't need or want light-up lightsabers. At least not on my 1/6th figures.

If sideshow did them and offered it for sale so we could go back and do all the rest, I'd be down, but they won't, so I don't want a mismatched collection either. My vote would be to keep that off the table unless they share the tech. Just too damn tempting to want them to all be the same.

But figures are constantly improving, thus are mismatched over time. You mean you never want a lit saber because some doll you got in 2007 has a plastic one? How do you ever improve?

Honestly, how many of the old human Jedi figures or Sith are really worth keeping in 2012? HT is gonna redo Maul, SS is making a new improved Vader, Asajj doesn't really count, and the only good Palpatine is Episode 6 (no lightsaber)... so you're covered there.

I don't want light-up sabers because I don't like gimmicks. Also, I really like Sideshow's lightsabers. If they change them completely, I'm glad the only Luke figures left that I want will be Hot Toys. The new Vader won't have lights (I hope).

All that's left is TPM Obi-wan, AOTC Anakin, and Dooku. Fingers crossed...

I would love to see the ESB Vader with lights. It would probably hit $300, though, sooo maybe not. :lol

Also want the lights, but don't see why it should hit $300.00, considering IM and War Machine have lights in gauntlets, chest and eyes and are $240.00 at most. It's just hard to reconcile Vader costing more than that, especially as all the detail is in the front -- unlike IM where armour has to look great 360 and can't be covered up with robes.

devilof76 - Lights in the chest is what I would want. Light-up saber I can do without.

Invictus Sol - Well, for one, he would come with a light-up base, so he immediately he shoots to $175. Add in the lighted chest and I think you're adding at least another $100.

War Machine special version comes with a light-up base and as I said lights in gaunlets, chest and eyes and is $240.00 (and $30.00 of that is just because it's a limited run, if compared to movie accurate War Machine), so I doubt a light-up base and chest is going to add $60.00 on top of WMSV's already inflated price.

Really I'll have to see the figure to know whether the cost is worth it, but just a meh Vader with some light-up gimmicks at $300.00, I doubt it. I'd honestly feel insulted and foolish paying that much. With the quality of Hot Toys' stuff, SSC will be doing well to match it. I can't see them beating Hot Toys so therefore can't see paying them more. If it means taking a pass on Vader, so be it, but honestly I think you're overestimating the cost substantially.

I hope you're right, but LFL <> Marvel when it comes to pricing. :lol
I mean, would you have thought Boba or IG-88 would hit $175?!?!

I do hope they can stick around the $200 mark. I just sold my ANH version in hopes of grabbing this one sometime over the next year.

Yeah, I was assuming licensing cost to be about the same between both companies, so maybe underestimating how much LFL charges. I'm OK with it being pretty expensive but they definitely will need to get all the details right and not cheap out on the cape, etc. Hope we see a prototype at SDCC.
