NEXT Star Wars 1/6th Figure...

It remains to be seen if any of us will even want to collect Ep VII figures... At this point, beyond one figure in new Stormtrooper armor, it would have to be something just unbelievably earth shattering for me to consider expanding my collection. I'm hoping the movie(s) will be great, but I'm not sold on the idea of really collecting anything from it/them.

Yeah, we've no idea if it will be any good, and if there will be any iconic characters from the movie/ movies.

I will collect TFA figures, but lets say they are on average $230, with at least 15+ characters, its gonna be tough trying to get them all. Not to mention anything Hasbro makes from this movie I will probably be buying as well.

They're gonna push for TFA while media attention is on the movie but i can see them squeeze an OT/PT release here and there while waiting for the first spin off release. Whatever is in store, with both HT and SSC on the market, we could get up to 30 distinct items a year for Star Wars 1/6th scale only.

Well, taking actual release dates into account, beside 2013 which was particularly slow for Star Wars 1/6 ( only 5 releases), 2012, 2014 and 2015 got us respectively 18, 16 and 15 items (figures, beasts and dioramas). Adding HT to the mix might not bring us to 30 but we could be well over 20 that's for sure.

You very well might be right. Especially if they continue with at least some PT, OT during ST figures, which I think they would. So curious whether they both have ST and how they'll coordinate releases.

This is affirmative. Both companies have previously mentioned continued licensing for Ep VII.

To me, the big question is whether we'll have character reveals before the movie premieres. I'd think a figure would only be shown after the long-form trailer at the earliest, unless the studio releases some details/characters early. But even then I'd imagine Hasbro would be the only ones with a sneak-peek figure like Mace Windu in 1998.

And while we may get some reveals or even pre-orders, I doubt we'll see any more SW releases scheduled for this year from HT or Sideshow - I don't think there's any time left to ship anything new in 2015.

A bit late, because "Sequel Trilogy" is already a thing. Even here: Star Wars sequel trilogy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Might as well be carved in stone now.

Perhaps like what HT have done with the Age of Ultron figures..HT will place PO up before TFA releases.
I assume they would have started on TFA as soon as they got the license and that they had already started on the OT figures right after Bespin Luke.
By the time of the dvd/br release of TFA,Hopefully we will have some figures ftom TFA.
Am really looking forward to what Leia representation comes out.am assuming ANH leia as well as a luke farmboy.Would love a bespin or slave leia too!!!
