I remember way back when Tom Coughlin was the Jacksonville Head Coach and one of his policies was that assistant coaches were not allowed to give interviews. Back then I thought that that policy frankly sucked, because it somewhat prevents an assistant coach from getting their name out there as far as being a HC candidate. But then I see Rob Ryan, and I wish that policy had been instituted when he was in Dallas.
Well I can say that Payton is very clearly the man in charge in New Orleans. I have a hard time imagining an assistant acting like an obnoxious loudmouth and getting away with it. But he hasn't worked with a character like Ryan yet that I know of.

Well, depending on what reports one reads, Greg Williams was a rogue coach on the Saints, doing what he pleased.

"Since probably midway through Williams' tenure as defensive coordinator in New Orleans, Payton faulted Williams as a renegade coach run amuck."

I'm sure Payton will tighten the leash on his staff though, especially after what happened with Williams.

Maybe that's the case, and the fact that his first year with the Saints was the Superbowl year meant that he had extra wiggle room, but it seems to fly in the face of reason considering that halfway through his tenure is the point where the Saints defense really started losing any positives they had during his first year, and he should have been on a short leash at that point irrespective of his earlier success.

Panthers said to have the hardest 2013 schedule. :gah::gah::gah:

I think Atlanta's schedule is tougher. We play all the same teams with the exception of you guys getting the Giants and the Vikings. We get Washington and the Packers in Lambeau. The good news is our division plays the AFC East this year, so hopefully the streak of whichever NFC division plays the AFC East goes to the super bowl continues for an 8th straight season.

I don't think they owe the guy anything. They gave him his second chance which should have more been enough. Saying thanks, but no thanks at this point would have been understandable.

He signed for less money, he might fit in Kelly's offense very well. If Fowles wins starting position you still have a solid backup at a reasonable cap number. The worst case is he starts and has a great year, then what.

Um no, the worst case would be another year like last year.

Not really you move to Fowles and move towards the future and Vick didn't cost you much. If hey do great then hey have to resign Vick to big contract again.

Eagles inked Dixon to a two year deal. This could be our guy. I liked what I saw when he was playing for the Steelers.
