I think that's a valid story. It speaks to his personality and shows you that he really didn't care. The Eagles biggest mistake was going headhunting and hiring a bunch of "superstars". You can't make a team using people that think they are the whole team.
Wait, is this still the NFL thread or are we talking about the Lakers?

Looks like Steven Jackson is going to void the last year of his deal to become a free agent.

So what contender picks him up? Atlanta? New England?

I think a high second is an overpay, personally. Not that this draft has any super QBs, but look at where Seattle nabbed Russell Wilson last year. I do think Smith is a huge upgrade over what they had though.

Smith is way better than Cassel and Quinn. Chiefs could be dangerous in the AFC West with Reid coaching them. of course its still way to early to make any kind of predictions since teams will be completely different from now until start of season

I agree that this was an overpay. Most likely his first 6 seasons are more indicative of his ability than the last two in an excellent scheme, excellent line, lots of toys to play with and an excellent coach.

Smith to the Chiefs is a good deal for KC. He is a major upgrade and I believe will continue the play he's shown the last two years. He didn't have squat around him until the last couple of years so I think this is the Alex Smith we'll see in KC.
