Looks like Steven Jackson is going to void the last year of his deal to become a free agent.

So what contender picks him up? Atlanta? New England?

Id say either him or turner will go to the 49ers to replace the failed experiment that was Brandon Jacobs and fill their need for a big back to spell gore/hunter/James. Dixon will stay on special teams where he belongs.

If the Denver safety doesn't forget how to play the position for one play how much $$ would Flacco be getting?

Would it be reasonable to think he would get 2/3 to 3/4 of what he signed for? Certainly there is no way we are talking about highest paid player in NFL history.

Teams tend to overreact in certain circumstances, and I think this is happening here. But maybe Flacco will prove me wrong. He has been the QB of a very very good team for the last several years, and played well in this year's playoffs, so. . .that's something. At least they didn't sign a guy to a relatively outrageous contract because of 1 good, non-playoff game like Seattle did for Matt Flynn, who obviously isn't even their starter now.

I am glad to see William Gay back with the Steelers. It will be interesting to see what kind of a role he falls into. I don't hate Lewis...and it might not be what is best for the team...but I would really like to see gay start. If he is as happy to be back as he claims...he may have a great season this year.

And it is interesting that they took JP Wilson. I can't wait to see how he performs in the pre-season.

Edit - I was too swamped with work to follow football as closely as I wanted to, last season. And this season I am already fired up like it was week 1!

It sounds a bit bad already. He's one of the best players on that team. Its generally not a good idea to run them off.

He's not being run off. To be fair, he has a major attitude problem. He got into two documented shouting matches with Leslie Frasier, one of the most laid back players' coaches in the NFL. He has a problem with his contract too. He was placed on IR the last 6 games and didn't even bother to be around the team. It's clear he doesn't want to be here.

Percy Harvin is a typical diva WR headcase. But having said that, the guy leaves it all on the field. I'll say it again, he's the most dangerous all-purpose yard player in the NFL. I hope he and the Vikings resolve their differences. Would hate to lose him but wouldn't break the bank to keep him. The Vikings made the playoffs without his services. I could see this going either way but I'm prepared to lose him. :gah:

Who the hell wants Harvin anyone that does needs to reconsider his value. he can't even make it through an entire season healthy. If you overpay for Harvin you don't belong in the NFL because you are essentially paying someone for a full season of work when you will be lucky to have him on the field for 8 games. Any salary you think he is worth should be cut in half for the actual number of games he will play. His body is fragile and he can miss a game anytime due to his freak in headaches. Even if he helps u win all 8 games he plays in that's still not good enough for the playoffs which he will miss due to injury
