Looking at the Jets QB quandary, suddenly I feel better about Christian Ponder.

Matt Cassel actually looked good in preseason.

Yeah but it's preseason. Besides, he was mostly playing against the opposing team's second string defense.
Just about everyone comes with a vanilla defense, unless of course you're the Buffalo Bills who actually want to win a preseason game and decide to blitz on every other play.
Ponder only has to be average AND NOT SUCK with AD. Ferotte was average and got us into the playoffs, and i think we got more talent than we did then.
Dilfer won a SB, so have a lot of average QB's. If you have other right ingredients an average QB can go a long way. (not saying we got those ingredients) But IF he don't stink i think we'll be alright. Ponder has to get moving this year or he'll be on his way out. We'll see this year for sure.
Also i wouldn't hesitate to sit the guy early if we go 0-2 as well. (as long as it's partly his fault)

Can Manning finally get us over the hump and get us title #3? I'm hoping that they reduce Miller's suspension to 4 games.

Why would they reduce it? Every report said the leauge wanted more and this was a plee deal during the appeal, so he is appealing the appeal? Lets not forget this is the same player who was arrested while waiting for his appeal. Not exactly the kind of behavior that will help your case.
