Alex Smith handled the noise better than Kaepernick seems too. He looks like a deer in headlights.

Alex Smith didn't play in Seattle in 2012. He did play there in 2011 and the 9ers won 19-17 due mainly to David Akers 4 FGs. Smith was pedestrian (179 yds passing and no TDs/INTs)....but, that year the Seattle fans didn't have a whole lot to get loud about.

Bingo. And Tavaris is very smart, but just not as football smart as Russel. Even though it seems like Russel didn't do much against us either time, he did everything he needed to. Kap didn't do that. He had people open underneath, but he always wants to hit the home run. That's not the way we should be playing.

thats the price you pay for switching from smith to kap.

I was there ....
Tavaris Choked Hard on a "COULDA BEEN" Game wining drive at the end of the game. I DO NOT remember 1 Fan wearing his jersey that day either. lol.

Yeah but our offense isn't predictable anymore either. Alex wasn't always Capt Checkdown though. He used to play erratic too before Mike Singletary sat him on the hill at practice lol.

Let's not forget that disastrous game he had against the Giants last season (where they were seeking revenge for the Kyle Williams playoff loss) and he threw all those interceptions straight to defenders and kept giving the Giants the ball right outside the redzone lol

Kap is a Great Althelete ...
But come on Folks ...
He was given a Built already Team so to speak .... Smith Didn't have Crap for yrs, and was always running for his Life...., then he finally got something, and it was taken away from him. It remains to be scene if He wouldn't a made it to the SB ..., considering just the yr before ..., he was a Special Teams play away that he had nothing to do with from being there Anyways. The 9er's woulda still won that game ..., if it were not for special teams. imo ... Smith was getting the Job Done.

I am Glad for Reid .... Smith is better than Any QB He ever had. ... and look what he did with Crap. lol.

All this is true. I like Smith. He's typically a safe player.

But the different level this offense is typically on (outside of being in Seattle) is pretty nice. It's nice to see defenders now having to protect against the pass and not just all in the box. Kaepernick is a proven pocket passer imo as well.

But yes, the talent on this team is, and has been, SB caliber. And Singletary didn't know how to use it.

The 49er defense has been solid for close to a decade now except the waste of money known as Nate Clements. Frank Gore has always been the bright spot and he's always had a decent line in front of him. The line didn't look great before because Alex takes a lot of sacks, but that's what Alex does. Alex knows that sacks aren't the end of the world but he still holds the ball way too long. Our problem after Steve Young and Jerry Rice has always been the same two things. Quarterback and Wide Receivers. We haven't had them at the same time.

Garcia and TO!?

They were unstoppable together before TO implied Garcia was homosexual.

They were not unstoppable :lol. And Garcia was a glorified game manager as well. He scrambled every once in a while but he was never on anyone's top ten list. He had great timing on the slant, but I would never ask him to throw a back shoulder fade or anything over the top. TO was great but TO was TO. And every time I think of Brandon Lloyd I think of him ducking under the ball.

Frank Gore can't stay healthy

Frank Gore can't stay healthy

Frank doesn't miss too many games. Actually he complains about not getting enough carries. He wants the ball and he wants to run up the middle and he wants to do it out of the Power I. That's the inconvenient truth.

"Teams can still wear throwback uniforms in 2013, but players have to wear their regular helmets. For instance, the Bills wore throwback uniforms in Week 2, but their throwback helmets are the same color as their current helmets: white. So players were able to wear their regular helmets because all the Bills had to do was change decals."

The No Fun League strikes again.:slap

I'm sick of all the throwbacks... might be nice to stop them for a few years. Some of those were just pathetic as hell.
