There is nothing wrong with the color combo but they do look like some cheaper HS uniforms since they are so plain.

The all black with gold helmets just didn't work at all.

Berman felt like he was totally phoning it in, and Dilfer was a bit cringe-worthy to me. He keeps going nuts about all these big hits and physical play, and all I kept thinking was about how he was a QB, and not the most physical one around.

I was more surprised how well the 49er defense played. I know the Vikings QB sucks, but it was still surprising to me. The uniforms didn't bother me, seen worse.

Early game thoughts

Cam Newton is actually Superman.

I really really overvalued the 49ers defense, by a lot. I really undervalued Steelers offense as well. Steelers will be a scary team with Bell back, I think they actually make it into the playoffs now, they can beat a Suggless Ravens twice.

Surprised Bucs won. Jameis made a few good throws, Saints are done. 6th straight loss at home. I bet they let Brees walk after this season and enter rebuild mode. Maybe the Broncos will sign Brees after Peyton retires

Lions are the good ole Lions again. Stafford is the wimpiest ***** I have ever seen play football. Cries after every hit. Lions will easily miss the playoffs, they will have a top ten pick. Good to see Teddy play well and there defense looked real good at times. I just don't see them playing consistent enough to make into the playoffs.

Jay Cutler.... Jay Cutler.... where to begin with this bum. He got hurt playing Safety.... Bears should trade him and just tank for the year. Even if it is for a 7th round pick, they need to let him go. Cardinals looked good again.

Patriots have no defensive leadership. Wilfork, Revis, Browner all gone, no way those guys let the Bills put up nearly 20 in the fourth. Brady lit up that D though, like dang, he just destroyed them. Pats are the clear Super Bowl contenders in the AFC... and it is not even close.

Missed the Chargers Bengals game. Bengals got a good win against the Chargers though.

Johnny Football... looked like Johnny Football. Mariota had a tough game. Maybe Johhny is getting some confidence.

The Saints actually are in a rebuilding mode this year, with 20-some-odd new players, lots of them rookies or very young players. That's part of why things are so awkward and unrefined. But Brees is getting a bit long in the tooth, and new players or no, he was making some terrible throws today. Many more than he would have made on balance in previous years.
