Hey league, let's NOT help out the Patriots by releasing talented players right before of the end of the season...:slap

The Patriots didn't NEED first round talent at receiver in Michael Floyd.

I'll admit that I don't know all the details, or followed the story as closely as I should, and a DUI is a serious offense...but it seems like the dude was in his car trying to sleep it off. If Arizona wanted to release a player to make a statement, oh I don't know, RELEASE SOMEONE FROM YOUR SPECIAL TEAMS/KICKING UNIT THAT COST YOU A SHOT AT THE PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR!

Doesn't the wavers go by current record so that means every other team passed on him before NE claimed him... I think.

Yep, every other team besides Dallas had a chance at picking up Floyd. The NBA has a rule that a player released after a certain time frame can sign with another team, but is not eligible to be on that teams' playoff roster. I think the NFL should have a similar rule.

Pats got LeGarette Blount back a few seasons ago the same way. Pittsburgh had signed him during the offseason and released him either mid or late season, and Pats picked him up.

EDIT: Just read that Floyd was asleep behind the wheel on his car at an intersection, which is of course, vastly different from being asleep in a parking lot.

That's the way it is here...it's not an arrest until the car is on the road

In the DMV area (DC, Maryland, Virginia), if you're found sleeping in your car in a parking lot, and it's determined that you've been drinking, you can be charged with DUI/DWI (I may be wrong about all three jurisdictions; I do remember reading stories about this in the news, but since all three areas are so close (DC, Maryland, and Nothern VA) all the news gets lump together.

Legally in almost every state it depends where you are in the car and if its running. If you are in the back seat not much they can do. If you are in the drivers seat it can be depending on the state. Most states if you are in driver seat and car is running (even just for heat) they can get you.

I love the holiday season. I get to root for the Jets. The time of year when every win from them helps the Pats, hurts their draft position and falsely gives hope to Jets fans for next year.

Well, so much for the Jets. The Pats will have to work if they want to clinch tomorrow. Brady's only 2-7 @Mile High.

In the GB / Chicago game a Packer player just knocked the "C" sticker off a bears players helmet. Never seen that before. 😀

Cincy's defense imploding with penalties was so predictable, it's amazing there are any Bengal fans left.

I know it's inevitable in every Dallas game I watch, but I still cringe when I see Brandon Carr cover the opposing team's #1 receiver and see the requisite PI call on him. SMH.
