And those 4 officials made sure they missed another possibly crucial call on the Saints?

I will also bet they are not from here and a transplant so unlikely to be Rams fans .

That's that I am figuring too. I thought the Saints were the only team that had a shot at beating Brady (of the final 4 teams) so unless Brady gets old fast I think he wins another one.

Well I think the AFC championship games proved that was far from the truth. They got super lucky with the neutral zone call.

Should be a fun SB to watch. I’m just getting a kick out of all the talk about the missed call as if there’s never been such a thing in any game prior.

There are missed calls all game, every game. The point is it was SO blatant it’s not debatable. And it would have 98% decided the game, if *properly* called.

Name a more obvious, critical (no) call in any sport, much less the NFL.

You can’t.

I’m sure if someone took the time they could find many. There’s been lots of ball games over the years. Undoubtedly any missed call when properly called has an impact on the game and could potentially sway it one way or the other.

I've seen *many* talking heads (Eisen/Patrick etc) say it is one of the most egregious calls in sports history.

It may actually be or it may be their opinion but it still doesn’t lessen the fact that any missed call has an impact on the outcome of a game. If fans want to get this upset over missed calls then let every missed call get this much press throughout the season. Just because a missed call is blatant doesn’t mean the less obvious ones have less impact on a game.

Personally I know they missed the call. Do I know for a fact that it cost them a trip to the Super Bowl? Not anymore than I know for a fact that a missed call/calls earlier in the season allowed them to make it to the playoffs.

It’s just a stupid game anyway. :duff

Well, I've owned season tickets on/off since '79. Owned them every year since '06. (13 straight, spent almost $5k just in 2 tix last year)

Won't be renewing this year. And don't foresee myself buying again unless Goodell is gone, and a major officiating overhaul takes place.

Reports that polls show a 25% decrease in interest in this years SB. I hope that's true, because the only way they change is hit them in the wallets.

I doubt there will be a financial impact from maligned Saints fans large enough to influence anything the NFL does. There has always been and will always be a human factor in this sport as long as there are people officiating it and playing it.
