I don't really think you can overstate just how important the QB position is in the NFL. While it's possible to win without a great QB it's also damn hard to.... Garcia was always a winner. We just signed him to a silly big contract.

Fortune favors the prepared. It isn't luck if it happens this consistently. And with a defense as ____ty as we have (apart from take-aways), with an offense that apparently can't play outdoors, it is very fortunate that the Saints are take-away machines.

LOL Next week Falcons get humbled, Iron Sheik style.

Sorry Rich. Great final drive by Smith. I think there is room for optimism with this performance. 49ers did turn it over, what, 4 times, and still almost got it to OT.

...and Shockey ticks you off...why? Just because he walks on to the field?! :dunno He's one of our best players, and has come through for us more than once. The Saints are 2-0. The Niners are now 0-2. A win is a win. So what if we won with a tipped field goal. The Saints still won! :yess: I'll take a win any way we can get it.

What's that wofford29? "The Saints have a horseshoe so far up their ass"?! Huh...what the hell do you mean by that?

The Saints BEAT the Colts and WON Super Bowl 44 on their own merits. The "other team" did NOT win it for them! The "Saints suck"? NO...I don't think so! They won and beat the Vikings. They won and beat the Niners tonight. If they "sucked" as you say, then they would be 0-2 now, not 2-0. :)

Next up for us are those "dirty birds" from Atlanta. :lol Yeah, we're going to have a Falcon "Bar-B-Que" in the Superdome!

Drew Brees just said "find a way to win" and they did just that. We have a GREAT quarterback, receivers, running backs, and many other players on both sides of the ball that make the plays when they count. They didn't go 13-0 for no reason last season, and this season they're 2-0.

Did you see the Steelers' first two games of the season? In effect...again, I say...IN EFFECT...they won two games with no substantial input from a QB.

Edit - By the way, yes I realize that this is an exception to the rule and you have to have a freaking awesome defense like the Steelers to get away with it.

The Saints just don't seem to be clicking on all cylinders on offense. Both games their opening drives were astounding, but then they seem to sputter. I never thought I'd be saying their D is ultimately winning games for them thus far, but what happens if they don't show up? I'm sure Payton and Brees will find a way to get it done irregardless. Just hopefully Brees isn't slammed by the Madden curse.

Damn this league has done a back flip. The 49'ers brought it to the Saints. Save for a few bone head mistakes they would have won! :horror

Every week is going to be awesome! :rock

I have a feeling Drew Brees will "find a way to lose" next week. My pick will be for the Falcons.

The Saints look horrible so far. :lecture

Yeah the Saints look ok at best and got lucky in both games so far. Hell, the Vikes shoulda beat them, and they can't do ____ on offense right now.

Plus they lost Bush

I can't believe the Eagles are starting Kolb next week. That should piss Philly fans off, seeing as how he can't do jack ____ to move the ball.

It seems the fans are split. However, most people outside of Philly don't know shat about Kolb (media included). The fans have seen him play great (last year) in a couple games. He was the only QB in NFL history as a rookie to have 300+ yards in back to back games as a starter.

Also if you watched that game the play calling was horrid. So Kolb can't take all the blame. They sat back in cover two and played against the pass. Reid should have kept the defense honest and ran it up the middle a bunch. However, he never ran the ball and that forced Kolb to throw into double coverage most of the time. Finally when he started getting into a rythm Reid would pull the whole Vick stunt and put him in the game. Not fair at all to Kolb in my opinion.

I think it's the right decision to put Kolb back in there. This is why the Eagles signed him and have been grooming him for the past three years. This is also the reason why they traded McNabb.

If they were to put Vick in as QB then that would piss me off that we got rid of #5 in the first place.

Maybe harsh on my end, but the organization needs to put the team in the best position to win, and at the moment that seems to be Vick IMO. As an outsider, it seems to me that they've recently been making bad QB decisions. Like when McNabb got hurt a few years back (yeah, big surprise right) and Garcia led them to the playoffs (2006 if I'm correct), and as soon as that season was over they pushed him out to bring McNabb back in. Or when McNabb was hurt the next season and Feeley was doing a decent job at the helm, but again as soon as the window creaks open an inch they usher him back in. So of course to me, I was shocked when they forced McNabb out when he actually seems to be consistently healthy and winning. To me, Kolb never seemed like a good fit for that team. And the play calling last week is not entirely to blame. If they have that much faith in him at QB and they constanly sat in a pass defense scheme, then have faith in him to recognize it and audible out to a run. Send 2 plays in. My point being, Vick, to me, seems the best fit for that team right now. But of course, they'll force him out after the season and baby Kolb.

Can't expect to win when you spot the other team two points, muff a punt, fumble in the red zone and throw two interceptions.

Still, there was a lot of good to be taken from the game. They were a match for the Super Bowl champs in ever facet save one, the turnover battle. Oh well... Now going into week three we're back on the road v. KC, another loud stadium, in a must win situation. I really hope they respond.

Alex Smith used his legs for the first time in a couple of years!! That was really nice to see. I have to admit, it's taken awhile thanks to injuries and a plethora of other excuses but he's finally starting to develop. His pocket presence was pretty good last night, and that's saying something since it's been non-existent in the past.

I disagree. :lecture Vick is gone regardless after this season. The Eagles will not be able to afford a new contract for him. The point of starting Kolb is to start off his career. If Vick is needed at a point then so be it. However, you can't judge a guy off of a quarter and and a half of football. Go back and look at the stats Kolb put up against the Saints last year.

Also since you clearly aren't in the know, I will help you out with one other fact. Reid scripts the first 15 offensive plays of every game. They are very specific plays that he want's run. Now I'm not sure how many plays Kolb ran but is wasn't many after that.

Most will agree that the play calling in the first half was horrible. It's not entirely to blame but damn it's a good bit of the reason. The world will see Kolb. I have no doubts.
