I fear that, because they're young, they're gonna get better as the season progresses. A team like that, I like to see them fall behind early and not to give them a chance later in the season. But, I hear what you're saying and hope that is what happens. . .not that it will matter if the Saints get to the playoffs and proceed to play defense like they did against the Seahawks last year :monkey4

You don't need to worry about the Bucs. They'll crash down to Earth soon. The 3 teams they've beaten (all close games, I might add) have a combined record of 2-10. Barely beat the two 0-4 teams. They're by far the weakest 3-1 team out there. I'll be shocked if they even make the playoffs.

But its not their fault who they have beaten... who knew Indy and Minn would suck this year. But I kind of agree... Tampa looked bad last night. I don't know if its the lack of an off season or Josh Freeman believing the hype but he is regressing and its worrying me. Unless something changes soon I don't see Tampa making a serious playoff run.

I know it's not their fault that they've only beaten 2 awful teams and 1 average one (Falcons). But that's not the main point. It's that they didn't look good or convincing doing it and won the 3 games by a combined total of 14 points. That's living on the edge. They could just as easily be 1-3 right now.

"In a league full of glad-handing and ass slapping between competing teams, I actually care about the organization and fan base that has supported me throughout my 8-year career," Cooley wrote. "While I feel an honest respect for all NFL players, I show no remorse in cheering against another team, especially the Cowboys. If it sounded like I was delighted by Tony Romo's failure last week, I was."

Gotta love Chris Cooley!!

Quarter Season Assessment

~Yeah I know, it's just 4 games but what the hell.

Biggest Surprises:

1. Washington - Don't worry Skins fans, you're not going anywhere with Rex Grossman. :lol

2. Detroit - First time in 20 years I'm actually looking forward to seeing the Lions play the Thanksgiving Day game (Green Bay). :lol

3. San Francisco - Somebody has to win the NFC West. :lol

4. Buffalo - Let's go BUFF...A...LO!

5. Tennessee - Won't last long.

Biggest Losers:

1. Denver - It will be years before you recover from the Josh Mcdaniels fiasco.

2. Philadelphia - "Dream Team," huh? They will still get it together and make the playoffs.

3. Indianapolis - That's why Peyton Manning is the most valuable player to his team.

4. Miami - Goodbye Tony Sparano. You won't last another 4 weeks. :wave

5. Kansas City - The most gawd awful, inept franchise I've seen since the Lions 0-16 team. Nice knowing you Todd Haley. :wave

6. Minnesota - .........And you just lost to the team above. :thud: Special congratulations to you Vikings for sucking the joy from my NFL season. :clap

Wait until he gets traded because of Fred Davis' emergence.

Doesn't Indy's 0-4 start provie that Manning IS the league MVP?

Pats went 10-6 without Brady.

Titans are 3-1 without any 100 yard games from the self-appointed CJ2K.

We'd have to see how the Saints would fare without Brees to be fair, though.

I have been telling people for a long time now that Peyton Manning is not the entire Colts team.

It appears that I was mistaken.:)

Watch the Colts have the worst record in the league and get the first pick in the draft next year...and they draft Andrew Luck to learn from Manning for two years...wow.

Even being 2 or 3 in draft could get them luck right now. Only team they have to be ahead of is Miami out of the winless teams. St Louis isnt going to draft him they have Bradford, MN just traded up in 1st round for a QB.

Pats went 11-5 in '08 without Brady, and that's only because their roster was one of the most stacked in recent memory, and the rest of the division was weak. Plus, Cassel has had 1 semi-ok season (being swept by the eventual 8-8 Raiders that season) and has basically done jack-squat other than that. So a GOOD team can survive without their franchise QB.

Indy's O has proven 2 things- 1. Their stars might just be the product of a system, 2. That's why you need a quality back-up, and need to give him practice with the 1st team O.

And in some fairness, look what the Giants did without Phil Simms, look what the Pats did without Bledsoe. Refer yourself to #2 above.

i would like to say to John Fox please play Tebow to see if we the Broncos need to draft a QB in next years draft. or put Tebow in red zone situations since Orton is useless in the red zone.

I can tell you , you need to draft a QB. Come on if you are third string based on practice you don't magically become a good starting QB on game day.

that is true the lockout really hurt Tebow. he would be more exciting than orton though, and defenses would have to account for him running.

No, we stayed with our draft position to pick Christian Ponder.

Not necessarily. With the new rookie pay scale in place, teams may be more willing to trade up to get the #1 pick.

Time will tell since the 2012 draft will be the first one with the pay scale in place prior to draft day.

What about the QB that took over when Brady went down and led the Patsies to 11 wins? That QB hadn't started a game since high school.

Irrelevant. Roethlisberger was never the #3 QB based on his abilities in practice. He was drafted to be THE QB from Day 1.

He WAS the 3rd string QB. Maddox went down against Baltimore and the #2 in Batch wasn't at that game. They just decided to stick with Ben after that. They never planned on him taking over near that early.
