Yeah. We swapped firsts, gave up our second and fourth, and gave up our first and fourth for this year as well.

I'm going to be honest and say I was shocked that Ponder went in the first round, but I thought he looked pretty good in pre-season. He certainly couldn't do any worse than McNabb right now. I'd let him have a go at this point. Worst that could happen is you'd set yourself up for the Andrew Luck lottery. Best that could happen is he'd end up being the guy.

Man, that's so much for a receiver. But hey, they stuck to their guns.

You're right. Ponder was predicted to go after #20 in the 1st round. Some had him early in the 2nd. You should have seen the classic WTF moment in the crowd at that draft party. I was one of those 50 that walked out.

I knew McNabb was on his last gasp but holy **** man. He's been gawd awful. Yesterday's line was 10-21 with no TDs and no INTs. That's a 47% completion percentage with numerous bounced passes. :lol

Aren't they supposedly tailoring the offense to Mcnabb as well? Meaning if they do turn it over to Ponder are they going to alter it again for him, outside of the obvious rookie constraints, I guess revert back to what it was? I haven't seen them play since Favre left so I'm not sure how much they've changed it up.

Mcnabb was brought in as the stop gap for Ponder for one year. We have too many veterans on this team that would have been pissed off if Vikings management had decided to start the rookie.

As far as tailoring to McNabb, that's another problem. Our genius offensive coordinator couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag. Bill Musgrave was run out of 2 other NFL teams. Lots of folks here want Ponder to start next week. At least he has some wheels because he'll be doing lots of running due to that poor offensive line. :lol

This team has too many holes especially in depth. Poor drafts outside of the 1st round has killed them. That's Rick Spielman's fault, VP of Player Personnel.

As far as Luck, I'd love to get him. But we still have some good enough pieces for that not to happen.

I predicted 7-9 for the Vikings. I'm having a hard time finding anything beyond 4 wins now. :lol

I have never thought Ryan was one of the Elite QBs in the NFL, but I would say he's better than average. Possibly top 10.

Sure he's better than a lot of people out there, but let's be honest. The only reason he'd be in a top 10 is because you have to fill all 10 spots if you're making a list.

When we play you guys Kara. Watch Matt try and read a defense. He can't check down beyond number two. He stares down his recievers, he throws almost everything high and he can't get out of his own way if pressured. If he gets a run game going he can manage, but if you look at his stats he's got one of the worst career yards per attempt in history. That also elevates his completion percentage because he completes a lot of dinkers. He's better than average if Michael Turner gets going. He is completely average if Michael Turner is average. He is below average when there is no run game going or if pressured.

That's true, but. . .averages are averages. Surely, I wouldn't rely on him in the way that the Saints can rely on Brees, or the way the Colts can rely on Manning, but only a small handful of teams in the league could do that if need-be (Chargers, Saints, Colts w/Manning, Pats. . .that's about it).

I bet theJosh would be one of the few fans in existence to genuinely enjoy a championship game between his two favorite teams, probably just equally happy to see either win :lol Most would probably be really anxious, have difficulties watching it, and have a bittersweet feeling after it was over, knowing that one of their teams had to lose.

Pretty much. :lol I would be pulling more for the 49ers than the Chiefs though as I am 49ers fan first and foremost.
