You're right, Tebow is a winner. 2 National titles and a Heisman. Go Gators!:clap

Is this post a joke? :slap

What does that mean now? Why is it sports fans look into the past constantly? Superbowl wins, past success, whatever. It has zero to do with what will happen now and in the future. Dumb.

Yes, it was a joke. I'm a UF alum, and Tebow fan.

However, I can see the difference between Tebow in the NFL and and Vick today.

Just relax and breathe.:chillpill:

Yeah, its funny how people talk about how great and revolutionary Vick has been but when you actually look at the stats.... he's been pretty average at best.

I don't think their offense has been average at best. :dunno

Five games into the season, the Eagles have amassed 2,228 yards of offense, which translates into 446 yards per game. The Eagles are one of only 10 teams in NFL history to average 446 yards through their first five games.

On Vick:

Until the 49ers game, no quarterback in NFL history had thrown for 300 or more yards and run for 75 or more yards twice in his career. Now Michael Vick has done it twice in eight days.

With 405 passing yards and 90 rushing yards against the 49ers and 315 passing and 75 rushing against the Bills, Vick now has three games as an Eagle with 300-plus passing and 75-plus rushing. He threw for 333 and ran for 80 at Washington last year.

The 300-75 double has been achieved only four other times in NFL history – by Randall Cunningham against the Saints in 1989 (306, 92), Steve Young in the 1995 playoffs against the Packers (328, 77), Rich Gannon of the Raiders in 2000 against the 49ers (310, 85) and Donovan McNabb in 2006 (302, 76 at Tampa).

He's also never murdered poor, defenseless animals :chase

As heinous as what Vick did, remember that he did two years at Leavenworth Federal Pentitentary... He served his time. There's guys in the league who have done other heinous things who never served a day.
Or a guy like Leonard Little who was drunk driving and killed someone's mother. He did like 30 days I think. So bringing up Vick's past transgressions has nothing to do with this argument.

As far as Tebow there's no doubt he was a force in college. But as we all know the NFL is completely different. I for one don't think Tebow will ever be a great NFL QB... He may prove me wrong. But it was only two months ago during training camp and preseason that reports were coming from the Broncos organization that Tebow was only the 4th best QB on the roster and that he looked wretched.

I think Tebow is a winner. He sparked the Broncos to damn near come back against a Chargers team that was having their with them. Some guys are just better on game day than at practice. If he plays well again next week and that team starts believing in him and the coaches focus on game planning with him, then the potential is there to turn the team around. Orton just never looked like a leader on the field, and seemed to let all the pressure from the fans and media crack him. But who knows, he might go out and suck.

I think as far as the fans pleading for Tebow to start, well they're not coaches. I remember those bonehead Browns fans with their "We can't win without Quinn" signs, and they got their wish and found out they couldn't win with him either. If a team sucks, a team sucks. No QB is going to step in a change that fact, but I think Denver has potential to be a good team. Is Tebow the guy? We'll just have to wait and see.

It is a wait and see, but for a horrible team with little else to build upon you have to play him. He certainly provides a reason to actually watch their games.

Will he ever be a great passer? Probably not. But the guy isn't stupid and he's not untalented. To dismiss him based solely on arm mechanics is pretty lame. Bernie Kosar did pretty well for a guy with mechanics issues.

To me, QB is more about leadership and decision making than anything. With experience and coaching (which he missed badly in the offseason) he's going to get the indecision and instinct to run out of his system. But for now, he's getting things moving and providing options which obviously Kyle Orton just can't do (and most NFL Qbs can't).

And all of that equals 1 win.:thud:

That's the pisser! When an offense puts up over 25 to 27 points a game unless you are playing a team like Green Bay your defense should be able to make some damn stops.

Granted Vick has thrown interceptions and even had a couple fumbles his mistakes were hardly the cause of any losses.

I still think they can get their **** together and make the playoffs.

All bets are off if they lose to Washington this week. :slap

Yeah they could. I'm to the point where I'm not even getting mad. I just shake my head and laugh. If they come out and play a full game next Sunday I may get back into it.

I'm so damn cynical that I just laugh when the Vikings lose. I'll be doing lots of laughing this season. :lol

You could do a shot every time McNabb thows the ball in the dirt. At least you would be good and sauced. :lol

I think I shall do the same for missed tackles. I will probably have to go to the ER I will be so drunk. :rotfl

:lol

You should have seen how ugly it got here. The Vikings had a 28-3 lead against Arizona when the 1st half ended. As the players left the field, the hometown metrodome crowd booed McNabb. :lol

Also I saw 5-6 people wearing brown paper bags over their heads. :lol
