What happened at the end of this game? I haven't seen the highlights yet.

The Pats took the lead with 1:36 left. The Giants drove down. They got a HUGE PI call in their favor for a ball that was clearly uncatchable. They got the TD with 35 seconds left on their third try from the 1. The Pats hook and ladder bull____ didn't work to close the game.

Oak/Den. A tale of two halves.

1st half Willis McGahee had 18 yrds. 2nd half 145.
Tebow was pedestrian in the air for only 124 yrds. But he made no bad mistakes. No ints, no stupid "why did he do that?" Ran for over 100 yrds himself.

Penalties and second half defense killed the Raiders.

When the Broncos can run the ball, Tebow is good enough. If they can't run the ball, he will never be accurate enough to chew up a defense. The kid isn't stupid and he's not going to lose games with dumb misplaced confidence type plays like Jay Cutler did, trying to fit a ball in triple coverage. He may lose games with inaccuracy, but not 'doh's.

You want to start with me Josh? You seem to be an over sensitive baby. Seems like you wanted my desperate acknowledgement to congratulate you in the baseball thread when the Cards won it all. It must have gotten under your skin when I simply ignored you. Looks like you're carrying that over to the NFL thread.

I'm not starting anything. Just simply replying to your post and you're the one resorting to calling someone names. No, I didn't care at all that was pure sarcasm. You didn't get under my skin at all. I was having fun just giving you a hard time when you called names in that thread and rooted so hard against the Cards.

I call it like I see them. The Chiefs performance was the embarrassment of the season.

Today's game was a really bad game. I said they laid an egg but getting beat by them isn't something to hang your head about. For once you actually seemed to be on the ball and know what you're talking about.

So are you rooting for the Chiefs all of a sudden or is the 49ers your team also? Which is it Josh? :lol

If you had been paying attention to this thread or past NFL discussions you would have know I love both the 49ers and the Chiefs. The 49ers are my #1 team and have been so since I was a kid but I live near KC so I'm also a Chiefs fan.

By the way, here's your fatal flaw about your Vikings comment. I predicted a 7-9 season for them. I busted their balls when they blew double digit halftime leads in three consecutive games to start the season. There's no one on this thread who's ripped them more than me. You wouldn't know that because you're a "Johnny come lately" to this thread.

I saw the posts but it doesn't take away from what I said. As far as Johnny come lately in this thread my first post in is was Sept of 2008 and for this season back in Jan.

Looks like Tebow has played his way into another start next week.

I'm happy with the win especially against the Raiders...:yess:

The last time I checked the score of this game was 24-24. I'm to catch a replay on the NFL Network.

Wow! Need to see the highlights for sure.

That PI call at the end of the Giants/Patriots game was horse____. As always, a NY based sports team reaps the benefits of preferential officiating, and coddling by the media.

You know, I could respond to you with a sentence by sentence breakdown like you, but I won't bore the rest of this group.

You're just irrelevant and therefore not worth my time. Bye! :wave

The guy wasn't even looking for the ball, it sailed over his head by a good 10 yards. He was looking for contact, which that moron Sergio Brown was more than happy to give.:monkey1

Amazing what Harbaugh has done there.
We were talking about Stanford in the college thread earlier, and the turnaround Harbaugh shepherded there there was amazing, as is this. He's the real deal Holyfield, for sure. We'll see if he can be consistently good, but he seems to just know what it takes to win, and how to get the talent he has to win.

FINAL
Miami..........31
Kansas City...3

Denver...38
Oakland..24
Just a lot of inconsistency across the league this year, though I don't suppose it's that unusual. Lord knows I've seen more than enough of it with the Saints.

A NY based team being coddled by the media? That's a new one to me..NY media bashes their sports teams...I've lived in 5 sports cities and the NY media is the harshest on their team while the DC media is the most biased and lenient.

And it was clearly PI...the guy wasn't even looking at the ball when he went barreling into the player. Not even close.

And if you listen/read mainstream media they hate Eli Manning while taking EVERY opportunity to suck Tom Brady's c*ck with how amazing he is and is the best QB ever. The Patriots get very favorable press...

First, local NY sports media goons may over-analyze and bash their teams. That's kinda what most local sports media does. But the national media absolutely coddles the NY teams, possibly because the major networks (and the leagues themselves) are based there.

Secondly, it's to an official's discretion to throw a PI flag when a ball is deemed uncatchable. That one clearly was. That's what was "not even close".

I don't think he meant the NY media, but rather the national media. But that coming from a Boston fan is like a hippo calling an elephant fat. :lol

Even the national media doesn't coddle the NY teams. Who gets better press...Eli or Tom Brady? If the Patriots were so amazing, the game wouldn't have come down to a single play.

But that's off topic...I'm still amazed with the "coddle NY thing"..every pre game show today, on FOX and CBS were saying how the Giants weren't very good and were lucky to win against Miami last week and would get blown away by NE today...I'm not sure if that's coddling when all the analysts picked NE to win.
