Alot of very close games this weekend between the pats and giants, lsu and bama and the green bay game today, great weekend for football.
First, local NY sports media goons may over-analyze and bash their teams. That's kinda what most local sports media does. But the national media absolutely coddles the NY teams, possibly because the major networks (and the leagues themselves) are based there.
Secondly, it's to an official's discretion to throw a PI flag when a ball is deemed uncatchable. That one clearly was. That's what was "not even close".
Denver...38
Oakland..24
Jeez Louise!
Where is 316what to explain this disaster? The game wasn't on in my market.
Oak/Den. A tale of two halves.
1st half Willis McGahee had 18 yrds. 2nd half 145.
Tebow was pedestrian in the air for only 124 yrds. But he made no bad mistakes. No ints, no stupid "why did he do that?" Ran for over 100 yrds himself.
Penalties and second half defense killed the Raiders.
When the Broncos can run the ball, Tebow is good enough. If they can't run the ball, he will never be accurate enough to chew up a defense. The kid isn't stupid and he's not going to lose games with dumb misplaced confidence type plays like Jay Cutler did, trying to fit a ball in triple coverage. He may lose games with inaccuracy, but not 'doh's.
And if you listen/read mainstream media they hate Eli Manning while taking EVERY opportunity to suck Tom Brady's c*ck with how amazing he is and is the best QB ever. The Patriots get very favorable press...
I will admit Tom Brady is the poster child for coddled athletes. You'd think he was god or something the way some just fall all over themselves to talk about him.
I think a lot of sports journalists are just jock-sniffers by nature and always have to put the most successful players on a pedestal.
That said, if Eli Manning had any other last name or played for any other team he'd get 99.9% less attention.

Guy won a Superbowl...that's gotta count for a little bit of attention...no matter if you hate NY or not.
The national media LOVES New York. I think Joe Buck was actually gleeful announcing the last minute of the game including having to show the SB42 clips.
Yes, I know Boston gets plenty of national love, but it's nowhere close to NY's level.
So did Trent Dilfer.
I stand by my statement.

If you actually compare Dilfer to Eli, then please leave this thread now.

I'm guessing he thinks Trent is much better...why else bring him up?
