hard to believe how great the 49ers look. It's been a night and day difference for them. Harbaugh is looking like a lock for coach of the year.

Yep, kept telling all the yahoos on FB and NFL.com that I just couldn't see Belichick losing 3 in a row, especially to a division foe when play-off rankings could be on the line. I know it's early in the season, but falling two games in the division is bad. This game could literally be the difference between a WC slot and the division title for the winner.

I just get more annoyed with the officiating every week. That goes for every game. Some of these crews just seem like they're day dreaming, and others seem like they're making mountains out of mole hills. I'll actually stick up for Cincy on one. They were called for holding in the 4th, and after the replay I was left scratching my head saying "that was just a damn good block that didn't resemble a hold in the least bit." It's to the point that you just have to take what they give ya and hope they don't suck too much enjoyment out of the game.

And my weekly gripe...... I hate it when they call Joe Flacco "Joe Cool". BS! Joe Montana is the only "Joe Cool" in NFL history. He earned that name numerous times with game winning drives against some of the greatest teams of his time, in some of the biggest games in history. Flacco pitching multiple INTs against scrub teams, and having to rely on his D to bail him out and hold them to FGs, and then showing "poise" all of a sudden late in the 4th to go down and score doesn't earn you that name. Back-and-forth slug fests with championship caliber teams that come down to the last possession in championship games, on a consistent basis, earn you that moniker, and his post season numbers are mediocre at best. He can't keep relying on that D to bail him out, and those coaches and the front office can't keep thinking that they can plug in a few spots here and there around him with free agents and "speedy" rookies from the draft, and make him a champion QB. If he played on a team with a lousy D he would have been benched or cut a long time ago.

Well, Harbaugh got them on an emotional high, and they swept the Steelers, but you can't play your Super Bowl in early November and expect teams to roll over and die for you the rest of the season. Like I said last week, he let them get too emotional over that win and they might have shot their wad for the season. I didn't see any Gatorade bathes on the Raven sideline, and Harbaugh wasn't giving a big emotional press conference like he won the big game this week.

But Jim Harbaugh seems a lot more professional since that childish victory celebration over the Lions. He's done a good job with a crappy team, and those players are really drinking up what he's giving them. Definitely thinking he's coach of the year this season, even this early on. Just better hope he doesn't pull a Tony Sparano, though.

He did that little celebration to toss it back at their coach for being an ass and a comment he made during the game. He's got this team believing but there is plenty of good talent that just wasn't being used correctly.

I'm with you here. Just don't get me started on LT. There will only be one LT in NFL history and it's not that whiny running back.

It's amazing how good Harbaugh is but it also tells you how bad Mike Singletary was.

I'll add one more to the list...Fireman Ed. The somber look on his face at the end of the game was priceless. :lol

Not a big fan of coaches being asses like that, though. BUT, he really showed his team is behind him after all of that, though. When it comes down to it, you want someone you respect and that you'd fight tooth and nail for leading you, and I thinks it's pretty clear that's what Harbaugh is to that team. They definitely didn't have that with Singletary. Good, good, good quality win for that team tonight. They deserve this record after all the struggles and inconsistency they've had thrown at them the past few seasons. And I'm impressed with Alex Smith. He's finally looking like that #1 pick after all these years. very strong candidate for comeback player of the year.

AGREED! The real LT (statutory rape charges aside) just emulated toughness, and completely changed the offensive packages for picking up the pass rush in 1 season. Tomlinson is about at the point where he just needs to go away. Just hang 'em up and be proud of what you were, and correct people when they call you LT.

FINAL
New England...37
NY Jets..........16

Just amazing how a NFL team could look so powerless against a no-huddle offense. :dunno

I think Brady just toyed with them the 1st half and gave them false hope, and then uncorked a can of whoop-ass on them to suck the life from their lungs.

And speaking of iconic fans for teams, I was at the Steelers/Ravens game last Sunday night and saw the guy who dresses like Jesus in line. I'm kinda kicking myself for not getting my picture with him :lol

I agree you don't want coaches doing that. I'll give him a pass one time though for letting another coach know to stop acting like an ass. I agree with you on the rest of your post.

I think he's just making the transition to the pros from college is all. One slip up isn't killing anyone. From what I see of him on the sidelines and in press conferences, it seems the 9ers picked up a good class act of a guy.

Being a Steelers fan I actually had respect for his brother at first. He kinda reminded me of a young Bill Cowher, and I respected how he went there and made that HIS team, not Ray Lewis', like Brian Billick did. But as he started losing more and more games, I noticed he became less and less humble in defeat, and more of a shove it in your face kind of guy when they won. He could never say they were just out played or what not, he always seemed to come up with excuses of how they had wins taken from them. And then last season when Ngata broke Roethlisberger's nose, he was asked at the post game conference if he'd heard for sure or not if Ngata broke Ben's nose or not, and he replied "Good, I hope we broke his nose." That was completely classless. I mean there are some players in the League I can not stand, but if one of the Steelers hurt them like that and Tomlin spouted off something like that, then I'd lose respect for that man as well.

But I think the Steelers have a gem in Tomlin. That guy just emits classiness. Very few coaches can stay classy even after tough, heartbreaking losses anymore. I think Sean Payton is a good one, as well. But coach melt downs at press conferences do make for some entertaining bits. Nothing beats Dennis Green in '06 after losing to the Bears. "If you want to crown them, then crown their asses, but they are who we thought they were! And we let 'em off the hook!" :lol Priceless

I'm quite pleased with him so far. Its a long road ahead and you don't know what will happen but for now this early in I like what I see.

Two completed passes by tebow and they win..... not sure what to think about that... i guess they found a way to win thats what matters but you are going to have to get a early lead with that play style for sure.
