I think it's more than that. I try to let Tebow's actions on the field speak for him, and his religious beliefs don't annoy me one bit, but his simplistic, cheesy, borderline sentimental interview responses kind of piss me off. :lol He sounds like an 8th grader trying to recite various platitudes he overheard his coaches spouting out, and does so awkwardly, as if he's never spoken in public before. That stuff shouldn't matter, but when you see/hear it, it's hard to put out of your mind.

It probably is pretty hard to re-train your ears to intelligent speak when you're used to NO post conferences. Go FALCONS! :D

Tebow is hardly dumb in the pressers. A little too innocent and naive sounding? Maybe that, but hardly dumb. Most interviews of NFL players sound like they haven't graduated highschool let alone gone to college for 2+ years.

<< *not surprised that Falcons fans think Tebow's responses comes off as nuanced and sophisticated* ;)

I didn't say he was dumb, certainly not in relation to some others who play the game, but he spouts those grade school platitudes off constantly and sounds pretty silly doing so. He seems to be a smart guy, but his naivety or whatever you want to call it gets annoying to me. So, I'm assuming others feel this way as well, which probably contributes to their criticism.

Yeah, but for him, I think its genuine which is what matters. If Suh or Harrison got up and said that, you don't believe them, but from Tebow it seems real to me.

He is really trying to go above the criticism of teammates or opponents that others are willing to go. He really could have thrown his receivers under the bus yesterday, but he complimented them on their effort late in the game instead.

He's got pros and cons, no doubt. The fact that he lacks cynicism and spite seems like a positive trait on the surface. But honestly, I like Urlacher more for saying something like "He's a good running back" than I do Tebow for loving his teammates so much :lol

Regardless of what you think about tebow, urlacher is a putz. A great player but not a shining example of good human behavior. He sounds like sour grapes, which it is tbh. I like tebow's humility and I find it refreshing. Another player had a great humility about that I loved, Barry sanders. I wish more athletes conducted themselves in a respectful manner instead of acting like thugs.

But to go to Prog's point, at least he's being genuine. Urlacher's not a guy I would want to live next door to (not sure I would want to live next door to Tebow either, though). I wouldn't want someone with his attitude to be my doctor. But he's not those things. He's a football player that I find entertaining. What's wrong with a football player having some attitude? Particularly a defensive player. Urlacher's no politician, which I can appreciate.

Nothing necessarily wrong with it, I just find it refreshing that a player can act like a good respectable human being while being a professional athlete. I don't like the thuggishness of some of the attitudes that abound in the nfl. That's why I stopped watching basketball. I wouldn't mind being tebow's neighbor. I bet it would be quiet :)

I know I wouldn't want to live next to Ray Lewis or Plaxico Burress. Much too likely to get shot or stabbed.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse than last week's MNF between San Diego and Jacksonville, may I present to you this beauty.....

MNF
St. Louis
Seattle

An epic in the making.

My thoughts on Tebow. One he just wins, but his Defense has kept him just about every game yet little is said about it in media, its all Tebow. He has also been fairly lucky with schedule. He is in the AFC West were for some reason no one wants to win it. He got the Jets in the best possible situation. He got the bears with no starting QB or RB.

I still think they made a deal with the devil though to win the ways they have.

Saw both of them getting fired after the season anyways. Was more surprised to see Sparano let go than Haley with how well Miami had been playing recently (up to Sundays Eagles/Dolphins game).
