Just one lingering observation I had tonight--one fumble by Ben near the end looked like a textbook "tuck rule" issue to me. I think there is a bias by the refs toward calling roughing the passer and making other pro-QB calls on traditional pocket QBs like Brady and Brees. But guys like Ben and Vick don't get those calls quite so much since they aren't those kinds of QBs.

I also agree about Ben's playing being bad for the team tonight, and for their potential playoff well-being. A game manager type QB could have kept them in the game I think, given how well their defense was playing for much of the game. But Ben's mistakes really hurt them.

Or your one who can't understand rules when they go against your team. It had nothing to do with the hand or propelling off someone. It was he started off the line of scrimmage ran up jumped and landed on opposing player. It's pretty simple to see he did all 3 things.

Go back to complaining about shoes and eye black.

Seriously, are you stalking me on this thread? Anytime I discuss an NFL game on this discussion thread, you target my posts. Everyone else in here seems to be able to have adult discussions, but you have to be the resident ****** bag and stir things up.

So seriously, go to bed and get some rest, little fella. Does your mommy know you're up this late on a school night? And remember, Santa is making his list and checking it twice :nono

What I think about that, and it's weird for me to stick up for the refs in a Steelers game, but Ben did tuck it back down after a pump fake, but it was then yanked out by Smith after that. I did think the same thing myself when I saw it, but I'm figuring that will be the League's reasoning for not calling the "tuck rule" on that one. Just my two cents, though.

No I just like to point out peoples dumb, incorrent and inconsistant comments. If I am replying to you all the time there must be a reason. LOL

And I'm not the adult who seems to constantly call someone a ****** bag.

Ben hurt the team tonight and for the playoffs as well. All he did tonight was extend his healing time for an injury that he won't be 100% from for some time. He couldn't step into any of his throws and he couldn't do what he does best and extend plays by moving the pocket. Charlie Batch might not be great, but he would have been the better option tonight.

They eyed that 1st round bye too much, and figured they couldn't do it with Batch. He sucks against good pass rushing teams like the Niners are this season. But seeing Ben play tonight, even if they had won I don't think he would have played the rest of the regular season. The dude is tougher than woodpecker lips, but he needs to learn when it's in the team's best interest for him to get healthy and step down. Tonight might have been a good time for them to gamble and play Batch, knowing they have a definite play off berth, but now it is what it is.

If I keep calling you a ****** bag then there must be a reason.

Oh, and since you're so great at pointing out dumb comments, then go get spell check on your computer so you don't look so dumb. Just saying.

It's just a total bull____ rule that can be called in just about any situation if the refs wanted to do so. Ben's fumble was no less tuck-worthy than Brady's.

I'm liking the NFC playoff picture, AFC is pretty much set as Pats, Ravens, Steelers and maybe Denver, in the end, Texans and Bengals and Jets will be eliminated early. If Jets make it.

But the NFC playoff looks to be some great matchups with the Pack, Niners (I can't believe I said that) Saints, Giants and Cowboys and just maybe Eagles can you believe that! :lol

In the end the NFC championship will either be the Pack vs Saints or Pack vs Niners.

In AFC Championship could be a Ravens vs Pats or Pats vs Steelers or could we might see a Pats vs Denver?

I know Niners will host at least one playoff game, too bad it might be against Eli Manning, if they face Dallas they can beat Romo not Eli, then the Saints will beat Eli, leading to a week 1 rematch for the championship Rodgers vs Brees part 2 :hi5:

Seriously? You think the Giants and Cowboys and possibly Eagles are going to some how miraculously jump over Atlanta to make it into the playoffs? :lol One of those teams has to go because of divisional rules, but that's all the East will have in.

Oh I agree, but I'm just guessing that will be the League's take on it. But to remove that rule now would be to put the Patriots first Super Bowl win into question, and there's too much about that now after the "spy gate" fiasco, and that's finally died down.

Sorry Grenouille, just trying to make a point. Go Pats :D

Wow the Ravens and Niners got a early christmas present from Cleveland, they injured Big Ben. Now I'm worried about Brees facing this Niners defense in the playoffs. We might not see Saints vs the Pack in the Championship game, it might be Packers vs Niners :slap

Still not giving up on a Ravens/Packers SuperBowl, though It might be a Rodgers/Brady shootout SuperBowl, which would be nice to see.

Why are you back here? Didn't you get your butt kicked here last October for making dumb bleep comments?

Pointless game. Lost Woodley, again. And maybe Moore. Shuda played the scrubs and made a complete s show of it. A big ol middle finger to Goddell for suspending our best player for basically touching a white man.

Where do ass clowns like you come from?

Dumb ass! :lecture

Yup

FINAL
Pittsburgh........3
San Francisco..20

1. The Steelers had done to them what they do to others. Get hit in the mouth.

2. There are 2 teams I enjoy watching lose: Cowboys and Steelers. :yess:

With Von Miller, Aldon Smith and Patrick Peterson this is one of the best defensive NFL rookie classes of recent memory. All three should be pro bowlers this year.

Definitely all worthy picks, but being on the East Coast and not having seen the Cardinals play that much, isn't Peterson making the most impact on special teams vs. defense?

From what I've seen of Peterson, he's one of the better rookie CBs I've seen in a long time, and that Smith on the Niners is a beast of a kid! Some really good rookie defensive players this season. No definite runaways for defensive rookie of the year like most seasons. A lot of solid candidates this year.

All around, this years draft class is amazing on both sides of the ball. Dalton, A J Green and Newton to name a few on offense. Very remarkable considering no OTAs and a shortened training camp.

Special teams has definitely been is biggest impact, but he's been very solid at corner. Here's how his stats stack up to Darrelle Revis's...

Revis:

49 tackles
4 INT
14 passes defended

Peterson:

59 tackles
2 INT
11 passes defended
1 sack
1 block kicked
