If the Saints history actually meant anything in terms of affecting how they played today, then I don't think you can explain the Superbowl victory. 40 years of mediocrity and ineptitude, interspersed by brief periods of brilliance followed by let-down. That's not an apt description of the Brees/Payton era. Uneven and at times disappointing? Yes. But that's not the Saints of old.

And of course, my logic says nothing about erasing history. It just says that you can't use relatively ancient history as a means of predicting the future when the present is so fundamentally different from what we saw in the past.

To sum it all up, Drew Brees is the mo-fo man!!! The Saints would still be a joke without him. How's Cry-me-a-Rivers working out for ya there, San Diego? Good move passing him over and getting Pennington, Miami.

If the Steelers don't make it, Go Saints!!!

Actually, the Dolphins passed on Brees in favor of Culpepper.

I'll actually watch this game for one reason. If the Colts win, they'll have as many wins as the Vikings and Rams for the #1 pick overall in the draft. :yess:

The only thing I care about the Saints is that they can only score about 14 points Monday night. I am going against somebody in my fantasy football finals who has 8 Saints so I need a LOW SCORING GAME. :)

Congrats on finishing 2nd.:rotfl

:lol

Sorry Darth Madden but the Saints score well at home.

Six won't like this:

Actually, Mr. Claiborne would be a nice consolation prize. Lord knows we need help in what I consider the worst secondary in the NFL. :monkey4

The Vikes will get anywhere from the #1-3 picks. Most likely the #2 and Matt Kalil. I'll pick the anchor on our line over the cornerback.

Watch though, my Vikings will screw it up and win the last game at home against a Bears team that has given up. :horror :lol

I think it affects Lucks' stock because now a couple more teams might be willing to give up even MORE to try to get to that #1 spot.

You'll be disappointed. Drew Brees will light it up again, and get the 307 yards passing he needs to BREAK Dan Marino's single season passing yards record. :yess:

The Saints will score more than 14 points. They've got the "Who Dat Nation" behind them in a sold-out Superdome. Our 12th man will make problems for the Falcons.

No, the Saints won't get won't get destroyed or lose in the playoffs. They will win! They're 11-3 now. If they win the last two games, they'll be 13-3. The 49ers are 11-3 too. If they lose one of their last two games, and the Saints win their last 2 games, then the Saints win the 2nd seed in the N.F.C. behind Green Bay. :yess:

The Saints only need to win one of their last two games to claim the N.F.C. South Division Champs for the second time in three years! I want to see them get it this Monday night, and win big at home against the "dirty birds"!

The Saints WILL finish strong, and not go out with a "whimper". :)
