I would take fisher :exactly:

St louis needs Vermil or Dan Reeves to come out of retirement and bring that team back! Mike Marcs needs to go back to the Rams, Bulger was a mistake that led to his demise, but he can coach the ##$$ out of Sam Bradford!

Belichick or Andy Reid if you're watching! hire Spags as your DC asap for next season!

Best case scenario

Fire Brian S. in NY
Fire Turner
Hire Fisher for SD
Hire Turner to be the OC for the jets,. Turner's a great OC!

Bellichik hires Spags as DC for next season
Brian S coaches in KC
Mcdaniels hired to be TB coach

True, but they blew it as usual, Tebow is lucky, the raiders still don't have a quality coach that could take them to the SB like Gruden, but the raiders are lucky, neither does San Diego!

Will they please fire Turner! Please so Rivers can make it to the SB:gah:

Actually I think Oakland has the coach that can take them to the playoffs. Look at how well the Raiders were doing until Campbell and McFadden went out with season ending injuries. Palmer wasn't that bad considering he basically came from sitting on his coach for almost a year. With the offseason workouts and more prep time with the young WRs next year, Oakland will win the West with an 11-5 record.

LOL...Flynn has one good game and everone is slurping him. Do you anything about football? :lol

Flynn has looked pretty damn good everytime he's played over the last 4 years. Remember, Green Bay drafted him in the 6th or 7th round after they had drafted Brohm in the 2nd. Flynn beat out Brohm in training camp his rookie year to become the backup.

If another team drafts him and they have some decent pieces around him, he'll be successful. If not, he'll be a well paid backup behind Rodgers.

At first I would say your loony about Hue, but after he cursed the Sh###t out of the staff and players, I was thinking this is exactly the kind of kick in the butt, Oakland needs. and I thought this guy was quiet.
Still think Raiders need a franchise qb, and I know they love Campbell, it won't surprise me if they look into the draft. C'mon his injuries speak heavenly for themselves, they can't franchise that.

He played well against the Pats last year too.

Palmer is the QB for at least the next 2-3 years. Campbell will probably get traded for a draft pick.....Oakland needs draft picks next year.

Whoa. I haven't been following the situation there very closely, but that surprises me a bit. I guess the fans/ownership wanted a team that was awesome without Manning, but to do that would mean taking something away from what made them great with him. Personally, I don't think those guys deserved to get dumped.

I was stunned when the news came down. I wonder if there was a difference of opinion with the Manning injury and drafting Andrew Luck. Pure speculation on my part though. I want the inside scoop of what really went down.

Feel free to pick up the phone Vikings. :impatient:

Brees gets injured... the Saints are done. It can happen. I admire your devotion but even you can't say with 100% confidence that this team will dominate for 5 more years.

....Agreed....

It seems like the NFL cycle is 3-4 years long. The rare exceptions are the Steelers and Patriots.

Between this and the Jets schadenfreude it has been an overly enjoyable day of NFL news.:)

:lecture Coming from a true Patriots fan. :wave

wonder what SD will do with norv turner......

I hope he's gone soon and let's hope they take AJ Smith with him.

Sure, bring back the fossils. :lol

It's Mike Martz.

1. Did you already forget what took place yesterday? Broncos lost and all the Raiders had to do was beat the Chargers! And they bungled it!!

An 11-5 record next year? I think you've been drinking the Silver and Black Kool-Aid. :lol:rotfl:lol

:lecture They will break our hearts next year.

2. You're basing Matt Flynn on a small sample size. Perhaps he may be good or he could be the next Scott Mitchell. :lol

Well I never said the Bucs and Panthers would succeed next year. But beyond that, nothing lasts forever. Saints could be a .500 team or worst next year just like they were in the 07 and 08 seasons. Things have to gel just right for a team to really succeed in the NFL, and any number of factors could change that in the near future. This sort of ties into the Polian issue, because those guys and Manning (largely) were able to string together consistent greatness in the regular season in a way that is really unheard of. The Saints have never had that in the past and I don't suspect that they are gonna have that moving forward.

Well, that remains to be seen doesn't it? None of us have the DeLorean time machine car from Back To The Future to go forward and check. Actually that would be pretty cool! :) But I'm keeping my hopes up that the Saints can keep this roster as long as possible. Yeah, that is no guarantee of always winning, but it should make it easier than starting with a completely new roster of guys that don't know each other, and haven't played together for the most part since 2006.

I see your point about the Colts. I agree with you that the Polians were a HUGE factor in the Colts winning brand starting with drafting Peyton Manning! They didn't deserve to get booted. As much as they tried with the back up QBs this season, the gaping hole left by Peyton Manning's absence was so obvious! Now with the prospect that the Colts will draft Andrew Luck, it makes me wonder about Manning's future in Indy, or anywhere else in the N.F.L. We don't know how fast he'll totally recover from the neck surgery to be cleared to play again. He's one of my favorite players, shocking I know, that is not a Saint. His Dad Archie was a great Saints QB, on very bad teams. He never really had a full chance to prosper as much as he could have like his two sons have done now.

Yes, I know they Saints would really suffer without Drew Brees. Back up QB Chase Daniel is okay at best. But not even 1/4 as good as Brees is on one of his off, or bad days.

Saints owner Tom Benson is a VERY rich man down here. Owning many car dealerships, a large office building next to the Superdome, and our FOX 8 TV station. I would hope and pray that he will pay up for Drew, and give him the star QB money aka Peyton Manning, Tom Brady pay scale, that Brees deserves so much.

Now I'm off Back To The Future to grab that Sports Almanac! :wave

I wish! :)

Oh, I have no doubt that Benson is gonna pay Brees (and hopefully that offensive line) whatever it takes to keep him here until he stops playing well. Brees and Payton are primarily responsible for revitalizing the franchise. Recall how close we came to losing them when Benson was holding the state hostage for funds around the time of Katrina/Rita.

I'll never forget that nightmare! Tom Benson getting "this close" (I had to use quotes there guys) to making the Saints the San Antonio Saints after the debacle that was the 2005 season. Playing our away games in San Antonio, and the home games in L.S.U.'s stadium. Now that things are better...for now....with the state and the new agreement with Mercedes-Benz...everything is okay.

Yeah, I agree that Brees and coach Payton did help to revitalize the franchise. After the dreary years of mostly losing under Jim Haslett, and the backfiring return to coaching of Mike Ditka! I'll never forget him dumping the whole draft on the loopy at the time Rickey Williams! :horror
Ditka also thought Heath Schuler was the next Saints answer to a winning QB, and he quickly got injured. Anyway...

Yeah, Benson need to pay up for the outstanding offensive line that has protected Drew very well for the past 5 years. Some new faces in it, but some older vets still doing the job well.

"I think Brian will be a head coach in this league," Ryan said.

What exacly has Schottenheimer done as OC for the Jets to have teams (Jacksonville at the head of the line) even remotely interested?
