WE? Aren't you from Missouri? Always had a problem with folks who were diehard fans of other teams and not their own states. (unless you ARE from there) Just a pet peeve of mine. I mean i got other fave teams as well, but my own state comes first..Just how i see it!

Well i guess i am rooting for a SF NE SB. (WITH THE 49ERS VICTORIOUS)

Yup, born and raised just south of Kansas City. I've been a fan of the Niners since I was 7-8 years old. I'm a fan of KC as well but the Niners come first. If you don't agree that's fine but I'm not worried about it if it bothers anyone. Just how I see it! :)

Dont move to CA.

#1 reason NFL has issues here to many damn transplants who root for they team where they use to live.:lol

It's good to see when the zebras tried to make bogus call against the Giants, they were still able to come out on top :lol. Since SF is local, I gotta root for them next week, and I said this awhile ago, but SF could take it all. I think their D is overall, a little better then NY and Smith hasn't made stupid decisions like he has in past years, it's gonna be tough for anyone to take them out. I hope Balt crushes the golden boy. 2 new teams in the SB is always good for the league imo.

The analysts are already calling the Packers " One and Done ", that's harsh considering they're still praising Brees for his performance in the loss yesterday (and well deserved) but how about some respect for the Pack, I guess they lost it with their performance today. :slap

I think the media jumped on the Rodger's bandwagon too soon, He's a great QB and is the franchise for GB and winning a SB in his early career is a key accomplishment, but he's still not the level of Brees or Brady yet, and today's game showed it. But I feel the defense and the dropped passes by the receivers were to blame, Rodgers was the leading rusher for GB today.

Now because of the media surrounding him with endorsements and commercials, they are going to down play his credits because of GB's performance today. They're already starting too. It's funny how they are disregarding what he did in the regular season. But I guess it's like the old saying " It's not how you start, it's how you finish " :dunno

Although, I think I originally picked the Packers, I secretly wanted the Giants to win. So glad they're going to. Manning and Cruz are beast mode.

Don't you mean Manning and Nicks?

Ashamed is more like it, now the analysts and media are going to label Rodgers as a qb that can't handle true pressure. :slap

At least brees went out on top!....pathetic GB! :lecture

How did Brees go out on top?

That was the greatest SB in the history of the world. :)

Please stop twisting that knife.:monkey2

I just read an article about making NFL officiating to be full-time jobs. There was some poll that indicated that NFL fans believe that will solve the problem of poor officiating.

I wonder...I don't think I have ever seen human error cured by throwing more money at humans.

It could be argued that if the officials were full time that they would have more time for training. But really, how much more off-season training would be reasonable?

If I thought the idea would make for a better NFL, I would be behind it. But I just don't see it happening. Seems to me that this COULD just be another way to increase ticket prices.

Told ya one of those games yesterday was going to be an upset :D Was almost both of them if Yates didn't look like such a rookie. Baltimore got 4 turnovers and only wins by 7. Flacco continues his streak of less than mediocre post season numbers. Does Cam Cameron know how to work the short passing game into his game plan? Very lack luster performance by Baltimore yesterday, especially at home. To go on the road, where their problems this season have been, against a Patriots team that looks unstoppable right now, I think Tom Brady has another lights-out game.

Giants at Niners will come down to 1 factor .... Eli. If he plays like he has these past 2 weeks and takes care of the ball, they win. If the Niners pass rush hits home early and often, and makes him force his throws too early, they win. This should be a close game, I think.

So yep, I pick a Super Bowl XLII re-match, with Brady getting his redemption. It's also kinda cool there's a possibilty for a Super Bowl XXXV re-match, but I don't think Baltimore makes it. Aside from the Pats, I think the AFC play off teams were kind of weak this season. On the NFC side both teams playing Sunday are solid. That's the definite better game there.

No disrespect to Niner Nation, it's just my pick. They definitely stand a solid chance of making it and it wouldn't surprise me if they do, but I'm picking the Giants.

NFL "analysts" are all about how well you did last week. That's it. If the Giants or Patriots or whomever play badly this weekend, some will probably say how bad they are and how they're done, etc. Packers had a single bad game, period. That doesn't mean anything more than what it is. And they played against a team playing exceptionally well. Most championship teams are "one and done" because it's so ____ing hard to get it done. So it isn't really stepping out on a limb to say that. But Rodgers is gonna be an exceptional QB next year just like he was last year. Two games this year where he didn't play like an all-time great player aren't gonna change that.

But having said that, I think the greatest of the greats are defined more by how well they play at the end than at the beginning. That's why I will always rank Brady higher than Peyton Manning.

Yeah, if Eli has all the time in the world they very easily could win the game. However, I don't think that's gonna happen as I think he's gonna see a lot of that D-Line/LB core in his grill. He'll make some mistakes like Brees did and then we should be off to the Super Bowl.

The Giants could win the game but I do think SF stands a very strong chance at winning. This is a rematch of earlier this season (week 10) so they will know each other but I expect it to be the same result with a Niners win.

To each their own, but just because someone leaves the area they grew up in doesn't mean they should have to put their teams second to the new area's team. Or if your parents moved and then you were born and raise you a fan of a team from another state shouldn't make you an outcast. If family or job took me to another state I'm not putting the Steelers in the back seat, that's for sure.

Now with that being said, I can't stand it when someone has deep roots in their area and just pick a team to root for because they just won the Super Bowl or something like that. Yes, those people irritate me. Like after Green Bay won the Super Bowl last year the area I live in looked like Lambeau Field there were so many Rodgers and Matthews jerseys. I live 85 miles east of Pittsburgh.

Caring for a sports team is a personal issue, and it's an issue of identity, so I wouldn't presume to criticize anybody for rooting for a team in any way they felt most appropriate. If you wanna get technical, I guess someone could go one step further and ask how you could say "we" did this or that if you weren't either an owner or employee of a team. But I think the criticism is equally silly. To each their own.

I think it's a definite down-to-the-wire game and almost a flip the coin match up, but I make my pick favoring the Giants with the slightest of edges because of experience. I actually think I want the Niners to win, though  I would like to see them win it all. I personally think it would be awesome to have 2 franchises with 6 Lombardis. That Steelers/49ers match-up every 4 years would be the World Cup of NFL games, then. I pick the Giants with my head, but I think root for the Niners though.

Yes, no problem with saying our/my team because us fans pay them with our dollars and the NFL gets multi-billion $ advertisement deals from us fans viewing the games, but saying WE beat you and what-not is a bit much. It comes down to THEM playing the actual game. So saying MY team won is cool, but saying WE win is not.

As, I said for me and the Niners go back to when I was a little kid. I was a big fan of Montana and Rice so I followed them. They're my #1 team and I've been with them through thick and thin. I am also a big KC Chiefs fan and the same with them. My dream super bowl is the 49ers vs Chiefs game. Probably will never happen but I'd love it.

I don't think that would make a big difference. In the NY game yesterday for ex, that fumble that should have been seen right before the half still got missed even after they looked at the replay. Everyone could see that was a fumble except for the blind ref and it cost NY 7points. Extra training won't fix things like that. For the most part, the refs do good enough imo, NBA refs are far worse, it's not even close.

Not only do I agree with you, but I actually like imperfect reffing in the games. It has been a part of football since football was invented. It adds another unknown factor into the mix that just makes the games that much more interesting to me.
