If not for how pathetic the NFC West was this past season, the Giants wouldn't have had a chance to come together like that in the play offs. When a team goes from 6-2 to 6-6 like that, they're lucky to even make the play offs let alone win a Super Bowl.

I'd say the NFC has the upper hand right now, especially if Manning goes to SF, but they're in no way far superior in the League as of the past few seasons. I'd say in the NFC, the SB contenders are Green Bay, New Orleans, maybe Chicago and San Fran depending on their QB outcome. The AFC I'd say Pittsburgh, New England and Baltimore look to be the favs.

But of course, we'll most likely see some strong up-and-comers about mid point next season. I'm curious to see the surprises from last season, like Houston and San Fran, fair with the spot light on them from the get go. I'd also like to see how Carolina would fair if they'd stop shooting themselves in the foot constantly.

* Just saw that Manning is signing with Denver. I still can't see Denver being a high level competitor right from jump street, and after the QB controversy San Fran caused by talking to Manning, that could harm Smith's psyche and cause them to struggle. I think he did as well as he did by the illusion of Harbaugh's total support of him.

Well seeing how the AFC had 3 teams with multiple Super Bowl appearances last decade ('01-'10, Pats 4 times, Steelers 3 times, Colts twice), whereas the NFC sent 10 different teams, and the AFC was 6-4 in those games, that's a rather weak observation. Even so far this decade the Pats are 1 of the 3 multiple appearance teams from last decade, and the Giants win wasn't a blow-out.

What the hell does the last decade have to do with the fact that there's more talent in the NFC right now? Nothing. The Giants were 9-7 in the regular season and beat the best team in the AFC twice. It's great that the Pats, Steelers and Colts all had sustained success during the last ten years but that has nothing to do with 2011 onward. My point, "weak" or not, is that the path to Super Bowl seems far more direct in the AFC. He went to what I feel is the worst division in football. The Raiders are in flux, the Chargers are only getting worse under Norv and the Chiefs are pretty bad, giving the Broncos the opportunity to stockpile wins and potentially earn a bye in the playoffs. Sure, the Ravens, Steelers and Pats should all be competitive next year but they are all flawed.

Nope he turned the top team in the WORST division in NFL and has been almost every year for last 5-6 years.

Because you can only determine next season off of the past few seasons, that's all they ever do. The talent this past season could be the laughing stock next time. Look at the Titans in '08 then '09. And a win is a win, but the Pats carried one of the bottom defenses into the Super Bowl, and only lost by a small margin. I think they did more to shoot themselves in the foot than aide themselves at times (12 men on the field that would have prevented NY's 1st TD). If you look at it, the NFC, like I just said, has a slight upper hand with teams capable of making a legitimate SB run. Both conferences have their fair share of pathetic clubs, but neither conference runs away with the upper hand of viable competitors.

Pretty sh**ty how Denver is treating Tebow like a wet food stamp all of a sudden...

Don't know how they are suppose to treat him from a business standpoint. I think that we all could agree that he never was given that bill of confidence from the head coach to John Elway, so from that standpoint I think he saw the writing on the wall along time ago, if they could find a QB to replace him. I know that Peyton was the only QB that could come in and not have the Bronco fans completely revolt again the organization. Not saying that I would've have revolted. I would've taken my chance on Matt Flinn to say the least.

Current Mgmt and Coach NEVER wanted him, they are celebrating they can get rid of him and face wrath of fanbase.

Don't think they are going to face to much of wrath when the Broncos are winning games and making a decent run through the playoffs.

Man, I just know Tebow will end up in Miami.:thud:

Now you'll see how I felt all last year. You're going to be pulling for him because you're a Phins fan, but at the same time you're going to have this feeling that, this can't work forever moments.

Get ready to deal with a bag of mixed emotion.

Well, I guess the AFC west is better than the NFC west if you somehow feel that four mediocre teams make for a better division than one contender, two mediocre teams and one crap team...

Really though, this is all about stating opinion. I'm pretty sure that my being an NFC fan will always influence my POV. Same goes for AFC fans.

opps i meant to say and not face the wrath. :slap

This is the best case scenario for the Broncos organization & it's fan base. I'm just so happy that Peyton chose my beloved Broncos...:yess: I'll deal with anything that comes along with that, just as long as I don't have to watch the type of football I had to endure for 13 games last year.

I've already got mixed emotions about the Dolphins. I don't know what the hell they are trying to do.:cuckoo:

We don't even know if Manning can take a hit with that neck. It would be stupid for them to give up Tebow, not knowing that. Obviously Manning isn't interested in winning a SB next year, wrong choice, and in COOOOOOOOOOLD ass weather.

Agreed 100%

This is going to be a great year! We have a good O-Line, considering Tebow with his non-anticipation throwing self. Can't say that you don't make a good point about him being able to take a hit. We'll have to see and it would be interesting if the Broncos decided to keep him on the roster. The only thing even if Manning was hurt. I don't think Tebow could run a Manning type offense in the first place.

One more thing let us not forget that he played his College ball at Tennessee, so he knows a thing or two about playing in the cold.

Hits to neck have not been the issue for a long time, it was nerve regeneration that controls the shoulder more then the stability of the neck.

Plus anyone who touches Peyton without the ball in his hand will be writing big checks and sitting out lots of games.:lol

they will be a very good team, no doubt about that, but his decision could'nt have been just based on how good the team he is going to would be. If it was, SF is the no brainer decision with that offense (on paper) and the great defense. I think he chose Den over SF cause of Elway.

I really don't think he wanted to deal with Moss taking plays off type of thing. Considering how much Manning is a so called control :FREAK:. I don't think he would have known how to deal with a receiver like Moss.
