they can't cut the one on military reserve can they?

They don't really have to worry about it. The player isn't being paid and doesn't count against the roster. When the player's military commitments are finished the contract then can become activated and he'll be just like any other NFL player.

New England needs to be pushing for an elite pass-rusher and some younger interior offensive linemen. I understand they didn't really have a true deep threat the past few seasons, but when Brady had been working the underneath game like he did in '10 it wasn't as big a deal.

Yeah, if they have a legitimate deep threat it adds that much more dimension to their passing game, but their biggest concern is their D.

I agree with what you're saying. They've addressed the offense well enough through free agency so far.

I would imagine the draft will be defense heavy for the Pats. I'm interested to see what Belichick does with the 2 first rounders. I would wager one will be traded knowing how he operates. Then again he may throw everybody and draft another 2 TEs.

Yeah, in the past you'd scratch your head with moves he'd make and selections he'd make, but at the end just marvel at the genius that went into it and the results he got from it. Now, he still does well in the draft and FA, but I don't know if his head got big or he's running out of luck, but he doesn't seem to be doing near as well as years past. Since most of his studs left or retired after '08, his defenses have not been near the same. Still an all-time great and definite hall of famer, but if he continues to progressive decline and loses Brady to injury or eventual retirement, when's it going to be time for him to call it quits.

I don't know if I'd call the last few years that big a decline. Yes, the defense isn't what it was, but they've been good enough to put up good regular season records. The playoffs have been a mixed bag, but the sample sizes are very small. Even with the defense they had last year they were in the Super Bowl and in a position to win it if the offense had played up to its ability.

They need to sign Bernard Pollard and sit him on the bench where he can no longer harm any Pats.:lol

Will the Tebow nut swingers now please come in here and admit that he sucks and can't throw a pass to save his life?

Yeah, because that was a ____ throw he made to beat the Steelers in the playoffs.

____ty coverage or not, that pass was on the money.

So now we are doing back flips because he completed "A" pass? Give me a break. The fact that the Broncos were slobbering on Manning is because they know Tebow is shat. If they thought they had a good quarterback in him they wouldn't have looked to a QB on his last leg.

I'd take Tebow over the dog killer in Philly.

That's a lie and complete hyperbole. If you honestly believe that you don't know ____ about football.

These posts are old too. You know when someone responds to a posters opinion by trying to attack their favorite team. It's childish. Take your nonsense back to the NHL thread.

If his reason for not signing with the Niners was to avoid his brother than he's a _____. Plain and simple. Denver isn't a bad choice but the Niners would have given him the opportunity to do some special things to end his career.

I think we just learned he is. There is nothing in Denver to work on offense so watching him fail will be fun. If he wants to win SB at the end of his career there was only one choice.

You would think he and Eli would have that brotherly competitiveness in them. It seems neither one wants a piece of the other. :dunno
