What's crazy is if you look at the history of QBs that have come out of the pac10 you'd never draft another one. Outside of Aaron Rodgers and the potential Andrew Luck has shown you have a bunch of scrubs.

You mean recent history because the entire history includes Jim Plunkett, John Elway, Warren Moon, Troy Aikman and Drew Bledsoe.

That I will for sure agree with. Its kind of sad to see such a bad run of QB's.

(My 9000th post was about the sad state of PAC-12 quarterbacks... yikes. Thats kind of sad in itself.)

Palmer had some shaky games with too many interceptions but in all reality the engine of that team is running back Darren McFadden. He was lost for the season after the Raiders started 4-2. They finished 8-8 without him.

Is 11-5 a reach? Possibly so, but I'll stick to my guns because I don't see the Chiefs, Chargers or Broncos doing any better.

Palmer isn't that bad of a QB. Giving that he had this off season to learn the Raiders playbook, I can see him being an above average QB, but not great. That, and having his old security blanket from Cincy in Whosyourmomma and a good running game, and I can see the Raiders being competitive this season.

The Chiefs and Chargers are pretty bad at this point, and come actual game time Manning is going to start getting frustrated with his receivers. You could see his past couple of seasons at Indy how he'd get so pissed at the younger guys for not being telepathic and guessing what he wanted them to do. One training camp isn't enough for a receiving corp to learn how to play with a QB as complex as Manning is, but I don't see the Broncos being "unsuccessful". I think they'll do better than a lot of people think, but not as good as the rest of them think. And let's not forget that Manning has to face his bane twice this season now- The Chargers.

So yeah, I can see the AFC west title being a back-and-forth season battle between the Raiders and Broncos. But I'll go out on a limb and pick the Raiders. I just think they're a tougher team than the Broncos.

My AFC west picks;

Raiders- 10-6 (wins a tie-breaker with better division record)
Broncos- 10-6 (Chargers ruin Manning's division title shot)
Chargers- 8-8 (Typical Norv Turner season, but the rest of the division isn't bad enough to slide into the play offs, like in the past)
Chiefs- 7-9 (too much happened to this team to be competitive anymore, and Cassel is not the answer there)

Whosyourmomma isn't with the Raiders anymore. He was let go before last season ended.

I hope that after Palmer, Lienart, and Sanchez the NFL teams will wise up to these USC busts and pass on Barkley this year but the hype machine is rolling hot and heavy already.

Palmer was really good until his shoulder injury. You want the the definition of bust look at the fat azz qb from LSU that was can't miss either.

Hey! Rohan Davey held a clipboard with the best of them on the way to 2 rings.:lol

Of course you mean JaMarcus though. So raise a purple drank in his honor.:chug

Jamarcus sucked in college. He was hyped because of his size. People thought he'd magically develop a skill set to go along with it.

You gotta give Jemarcus one thing- he got paid a butt-load of money for being such a bust. What'd he get, a $6 million guarantee? Yep, he laughed his fat azz all the way to the bank to cash Al Davis' fat azz check. :lol

Didn't know that. Ok, I now put Oakland in last place with a record of 3-13, and a top 3 pick next draft.

So by not having a washed up #3 WR, you drop them that much?

JaBustus had over $30M guaranteed. And probably doesn't have any of it left either.

I was joking. I still think Oakland can be competitive if Palmer stays healthy. They have the D and running game to win. That, and Manning isn't used to playing outdoors an entire season. I'm anxious to see how his numbers hold up late in the season. If he survives not getting injured.

Damn, J Russ (thought I'd try the dumb nickname game) really took them to the bank! That's just funny!

Yeah he held out for guaranteed money because he knew he didn't give enough ****s.

Prime example of why there should've always been a rookie pay scale. Can't stand these dumb kids listening to their greedy agents, and holding out before ever taking a snap in the NFL.
