As much as I hate the Raiders, Autumn Wind is pretty awesome.

John Facenda narrating the phone book probably would have been enthralling.

Agreed!

I have the following on CD and it will never get any better than this especially if you grew up on the NFL in the '70s.

The original music and voices from NFL films ('60s/'70s) including John Facenda.......

I think I'm going to have to join the game in progress and miss the pre-game festivities. I'm only now starting to get over 42, without having to relive 46.:lol

Oh, I understand. 5 SB appearances in the last 10 years and still whining.:lol

Last year was easier to take than 2007. That one is still a gut punch. I still haven't seen the full NFL Films highlight reel of that game, I just can't do it.:monkey4

You have to give credit to the Steelers and Patriots.

They are the only two teams in the NFL where their fanbase can expect a deep playoff run if not a Super Bowl appearance on an annual basis.

It's sad being in the recent runners-up club.:1-1: Someone from the AFC needs to end this recent NFC dominance. Might as well be the Pats or Steelers.

I totally agree! Some would say I can brag because the Steelers are the last AFC team to win the Super Bowl, but it's not like that for me. I was rooting for the Pats to win it in Feb, but it doesn't bother me that the Giants won. Justin Tuck is actually one of my favorite players- and was robbed of that Super Bowl MVP title!

But come the big dance this year, as long as the AFC rep isn't Thug-imore and their whiny head-coach (whom sounds like Al Davis in the 1970s he blames the refs so much), then I want to see the AFC win, and the BEST player on the field be awarded MVP- not the most popular!!!

And yes, I'd even root for whatever team would knock Pittsburgh out of the play offs, if injuries stay minimal and they make a slot.

That's a double-edged sword, though. It's like you almost expect them to be there every season, because it's possible- yet impossible.

As for me with the Steelers, I've watched them win 2 then not make the play offs the following season- and '09 sucked because all 7 of their losses came by one score (I think 5 by 3 points or less) and watched Baltimore get in by half-a-game over them. So when they don't make it, it really sucks! Don't get me wrong though, I do feel fortunate that my favorite sports team is having good success.

For Gren it's almost worse. In '09 the Pats get in, and get smashed into the turf for Brady's 1st loss against the Ravens ever, and still his only one. Then in 2010 Brady had what I feel is probably the best season by a QB ever, and get pretty much dominated at home by a lousy team. And watching perfection ruined, and a 2nd Super Bowl loss in 5 seasons, both at the hands of Peyton Manning's retarded looking little brother .......... man, I feel for the poor guy, because I know he's a real fan, not some fair-weather-bandwagon-jumper.

I can feel for you also on that thing with XLII. For me, I won't watch highlights of XLV, because the Steelers played a completely miserable game, but still were only down by 6 with a little less than 2 minutes to go with a chance to win it. They played awful and still almost won, so if Pittsburgh would've played an even half decent game, or even Mendenhall not fumbling in the 2nd half, the Steelers would've wiped the turf up with Green Bay.

So listening to those bandwagon idiots spouting off with "Rodgers passed all over them" 302 yds I believe, not shredding a defense by any means, or how Green Bay "dominated" them- it goes on-and-on!

I'm sure you hear how Manning tore their defense up and whatnot, but in all actuality Manning had a mediocre game with 1 good drive in it. The real story of that game was the Giants defense holding the highest scoring offense of all time to 2 TDs, and one off of a stupid throw that resulted in an INT and a short scoring drive by the supposed "MVP" of that game. Whatever, Eli is about as elite to the NFL as an Army cook would be to the Green Berets.
