So unless it comes on the last play of a game, the game changing mistakes the scabs are making should be ignored. Got it.:cuckoo:

My teams have lost many games do to horrible refs(non scabs) blowing calls. You know what they had a chance to stop them after that and failed. Thats why they lost not because of the call. Did it make they do mors work sure buf they still have chance to do what they have to win and if you fail how its that someone elses fault?

You could also say that they shouldn't have been in a position to have to do more. I've had enough of last night and anything more will be seen as sour grapes.

Onward to Buffalo.

I don't buy that.

If refs aren't held accountable for their performance why even have them out there. Everyone has to do their jobs and should be accountable for it.

If the day shift at a factory screwed the pooch you don't blame the night shift if they can't make up the lost time.

The biggest problem with the refs isn't a single bad call here or there IMO. It is the inconsistency with which they make calls. Like in last night's game, some clear fouling would go on, and the refs would ignore it. Then, late in the game when it matters, a ticky-tac call gets made that keeps a potential game winning drive alive. Refs will always make mistakes and be imperfect, but as a player you have to understand the rules and have some rough idea of how they will be enforced. In a typical season with regular refs, in most cases, teams are treated roughly equally, and can expect a fair level of consistency.

Having said that, I do think some of the complaints are overblown, and are just scapegoating (something NFL coaches and players are well experienced at doing anyway).

yeah im a big broncos fan but i know the defense was going to far with a few of those plays. i understand defense was getting frustrated giving up big plays but no reason to take out the qb like that

Wait does Ed Hoculie still have a job? Has he number of horrible calls (many in the top 10 ever) and yet still get many high profile games, and even help train refs. So yeah why should scabs get treated different?

Because the scabs have shown over the course of three weeks that they don't know the rules, can't keep control, and just don't know what they are doing in general.

Yes, Ed Hochuli messed up a Chargers/Broncos game 4 years ago and he's well known because the announcers always talk about him, but that doesn't make him the worst official ever.

Whose saying the normal refs get off scott free? They get plenty of blame when they mess something up too.

He has more then that. That's just his most famous.

Just heard a great comment about the control issues. The players/coaches say they can't keep control yet every single one of them has done everything they can to make sure they can't get control either. These refs have NEVER been given the respect by anyone that the other refs have been given from day 1. If the players and coaches had pulled this crap with the old refs they would be looked at badly but because no one every gave the new refs any respect no one cared.

Look they are here to stay for at least 2-3 weeks and having everyone looking at you under a electron microscope since day 1 isn't exactly confidence building.

I will continue to say they aren't good, but they have done what have can with little training and experience and they need to be cut a break. This is not their doing.

Here comes the hammer...

The NFL fined Denver Broncos head coach John Fox $30,000 and defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio $25,000 for their behavior during last Monday night's loss to Atlanta in which they publicly criticized officials.

The NFL even called the Georgia Dome at halftime of the game to get the message to Fox and Del Rio to tone down their act in the second half, a source had told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

NFL executive vice president of football operations Ray Anderson said Monday he is reviewing incidents from Sunday night's New England-Baltimore game involving Patriots coach Bill Belichick and the Ravens' John Harbaugh. Anderson also is looking at actions by Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan in their loss to Cincinnati.

Last game of week 3 tonight, then on to week 4. I honestly think I'm skipping this game, and Thursdays game. These scab refs are like a bad joke- kinda funny at first, but after the 100th time it's just annoying. I kind of feel robbed waiting 7 months just to see this fiasco. It's going to get to the point no matter who wins what game- it won't matter, because its either bad officiating helped them, or bad officiating hurt them. I'm really hating this season so far.

:goodpost:

Steve Young said last week after the Monday night debacle that the league is probably tempting the alienation of its fan base. When people come to think of this league as being on the same level as the NBA you know it's time to fix the problem. We're talking about $60k per team for 5 years.:slap
