See, I love how Gruden flat-out calls it terrible officiating that cost a team a win. Unlike Al Michaels and Chris Collinsworthless justifying every bad call last night, and repeatedly justifying that FG as being good. I wouldn't be surprised if the NFL tries to discipline Gruden for going off about how terrible those officials were after the game.

I respect Gruden for calling it like he sees it.

The talking heads on NFL Network are all shaking their heads saying good call. They might as well have Baghdad Bob as an analyst.:lol

I'm sorry, but anyone who sees that play and says it's a good call (and is being serious) is either a complete Packers hater who has no respect for the actual sport, or really knows nothing about that call and should just shut their yaps. Screw those yes-men pussies the NFL puts on that channel. The Seahawks could've had 19 offensive players on the field for that play with a no-call, and those cowards would agree with it 100%. That's another reason I can't stand that channel. I'm so glad Rod Woodson walked away from them. I respect these guys that are calling it what it is, like Gruden and Steve Young.

As of now, it's already to the point that the damage is done for some of these teams. I think I'd be happy if the NFL just gave up on this season and called it quits due to this debacle these scabs caused. It'll never happen in a million years, they're all way too greedy and want the revenue from the games.

HA! even though I agree the call should have been an interception I do like seeing the packers loose, but yes, lets get the real Refs back.

**** it NFL.. Fine me and use the money to pay the regular refs. - TJ Lang Packers Guard

Well, at the very least between Belichick, Ed Reed, John Fox, Del Rio and Twitter the NFL has made some serious money in fines this weekend.

even though it sucks a team lost because of a bad call, I really don't feel for the packers simply because neither team truly outplayed the other, the packers sucked tonight, if you don't want to loose, play better.

the call that truly was a bad call to me this week was the Oakland game with the helmet to helmet contact with a no call. Not only should that have been called but hopefully the defender is getting fined, things like that shouldn't happen. It's when players health is at risk is when I think something needs to be done, and that will continue to happen until refs start making those calls.

But that's just it,... they didn't lose. Oh of course the record books will read differently, but for anyone watching the game, it was a GB victory.

So I'm not sure what you mean by "if you don't want to lose, play better."

Whether either team "outplayed" one another is besides the point. There still has to be a victor. And unfortunately the victor tonight was decided under a bogus call.

I usually have stupid, uninformed opinion about football, so allow me to brag about my one moment of clarity (despite it being rather obvious)...

When talking about this with my brother, I had been saying what what would really cause pressure to the league wouldn't be fans, players, or owners being upset, it would be when the betting started to get screwed up. And here we are:

AdamMertzWSJ: Bad news 4 #NFL RT @mdcosh: RT @RJinVegas: 68% of bets (and more total $$) were on #Packers, meaning bettors lost on controversial finish.

This really came to a head this weekend with a few wacky action in Vegas as a result of some calls, but tonight is the kicker.

Refs are just an excuse for a team not getting the job done. Unless its the very last play of the game players and coaches need to stop pointing the finger at refs as reason for a loss. Can it make it harder to win sure but those are the things teams have to overcome.

So what now Sherlock?

Wait does Ed Hoculie still have a job? Has he number of horrible calls (many in the top 10 ever) and yet still get many high profile games, and even help train refs. So yeah why should scabs get treated different?

Yeah, still worried about those pensions.....dumbass. :wave

Vikings played great yesterday! Congrats. :(

Thanks Rich. Have to admit us rube fans are pretty surprised by the outcome and the manner which the game was won. I hope it translates into a better than 6-10 record that I had predicted. Won't mean anything though if the Vikings lay an egg in Detroit this Sunday.

Though the 49ers played a bit of a clunker, it doesn't change my mind on how good they are. I still see them representing the NFC in the Super Bowl.

However, here's an interesting point though. The 49ers have to face teams in the suddenly formidable NFC West.

Rule 8, Section 1, Article 3, Item 5 of the NFL rulebook states:

If a pass is caught simultaneously by two eligible opponents, and both players retain it, the ball belongs to the passers. It is not a simultaneous catch if a player gains control first and an opponent subsequently gains joint control.

But don't forget the replay officials are the regular guys and they blew it too.

Actually, Espn reported that the replay officials can't review the possession of the catch. They can review whether the pass hit the ground or the WR was out of bounds or whatever, but they can't review to determine whether the DB or WR had possession.
