So this was the possible change mentioned if kickoffs were eliminated...

"….after a touchdown or field goal, instead of kicking off, a team would get the ball on its own 30-yard line, where it’s fourth-and-15. The options are either to go for it and try to retain possession, or punt. If you go for it and fall short, the opposing team would take over with good field position. In essence, punts would replace kickoffs, and punts are less susceptible to violent collisions than kickoffs."

Awful idea.

The only thing I like remotely about it is in a close game at the end a team that is trailing by say 9-14 pts could score and then take the ball back for a chance to take the lead. The team in the lead would really need to hold the fort. That sounds exciting, but its a complete change to the game and overly complex.

What if in baseball when a runner was on second base the batting team can elect to move him to third freely just by sacrificing an out, instead of having to actually execute the bunt or sac fly. Or what if a team can elect to move a runner from second back to first to secure ah extra out. The point is, you can't just make up new rules that change the essence or procedure of the game. Thats stupid.

Broncos haven't exactly blown anyone out lately. I think it will be around 10-13 points. Some analysts here think 42-17. I seriously doubt that, but would enjoy it if it happened.

The Raiders did beat the Steelers. Anything is possible, especially with these Thursday night games.

Go Raiders!!!:yuck

Am I missing something? They get it at the 30 with an automatic 4th and 15? So the first team to score will pretty much win every game if they only have to stop the other team for 1 play.

No. The team that SCORED gets the ball with 4th and 15. They then elect to punt or go for it.

Long throw over the top for a big gain followed by an interception.

That sequence just about sums up Carson Palmer's NFL career.

Aside from a healthy Percy Harvin, I don't think theres another WR I'd rather have than Damarius Thomas.

:lol that huge gain was a total blown play by Rahim Moore. Couldn't believe he didn't knock that pass down. Didn't even raise his arm.

It's going to feel very dirty rooting so hard for the Ravens next week. I have this bad feeling the Broncos are going to get one of the byes and then see the Pats at Mile High for a playoff game which will probably be a nightmare.:monkey4

The reverse would be awful for the Broncos. This is one matchup that I think the home team wins eitherway.

See, here's another game that Denver is allowing to be closer than it should. Lackluster play calling I think. Throw in a reverse or something once in a while to keep it fresh.
