Who's a happy guy? This guy!!!!!!!

One of the greatest nights of my life!!!!

I doubted I'd ever see it after the dread that was the the last 10-12 years.

Thank you Kaner, Toews, Keith, Biscuit, Hossa, Hammer, Soup, Brouwer, Ladd, Steeger, Sharpie, ANTTI-GOAL, and everyone else for making me the happiest person alive tonight.

It's all so surreal right now. I wish I had the words to describe how I'm feeling right now.

Can't say I'm not a bit jealous. Enjoy it for now. As of July 1, the Hawks are heading to salary cap hell, but as the Stanley Cup champions.;)

Seriously, we all know of the Cappocolypse that is coming. Hopefully they can get rid of Huet, that's obviously the biggy. But who the ____ cares, we won the CUP tonight!!!!!! I will enjoy this for a LONG time!!!!

great game. tough loss but I've never been more proud to be a flyer fan in my life. 6 games that were always close, no shame in losing to the hawks. Everybody thought this would be over in 4 or 5 games but it almost hit 7.

And when the dust settles, the most historic moment of the 2010 play-offs will not be that the black hawks won the cup. It will be that the flyers came back to beat the bruins :rock

You can thank the three Winnipeg born Captain and two Alternate Captains of the team, who not only helped lead this team to a Stanley Cup victory, but the fact that each of those three individuals played such a huge factor in that win. GO WINNIPEG GO!!! So don't think ChiTown is the only one excited about this Cup win... all of Winnipeg celebrates along with you guys. :fireworks

Great game to end the season. Time to move on to next year.

I don't care which, let's just get to LA for the draft.:impatient:

That one is easy... you're getting Tyler Seguin. The Oil will take Taylor Hall. They would be foolish not to. Screw necessity. You take the best available player in the draft and that has been Hall in spades. I will admit it's actually closer than that. Top 2 are clear stand outs in this draft like the 04' draft that saw Ovechkin and Malkin in a league of their own. Yes, Malkin was once considered a favorite for the No. 1 overall pick over OVie at one point. Everyone else was distant behind them. They said the difference from the No. 3 to 10 picks are not much and that it's a crapshoot. In fact many say the 2010 Draft will be one of the weakest drafts in memory. 2003 sure was a great draft year now when you look back on it.

May I remind peeps to please not to insult others, regardless of what has happened in the past.

Use the ignore function to avoid contact if needs be.
Thanks

The goaltending got really exposed in this series. Will the Flyers resign Leighton in the summer? Would anyone be really surprised if they didn't? While Leighton was decent in the Habs series, let's be honest, the Habs had very few good scoring chances. The Habs made Leighton great by only shooting 2 shots per period. Most NHL goalies would have had those shutouts too. Save for game 3, the Habs were nowhere to be found. The Flyers team shut the Habs down in an exemplary fashion.

Congrats to the Flyers team. There were moments when they looked awesome.
They truly are a goaltender away, as usual, from a great shot at the cup.

Sad day for this Moose fan, the Manitoba Moose lose their head coach Scott Arniel to the big leagues, the Columbus Blue Jackets. Ringer, he's such a great stand up guy and coach. You're lucky to have him. That and we always had fun in our meet and greets.

If that's the case then they won't ever win the Stanley Cup as they have never really had that franchise goalie since Bernie Parent.

btw Congratulations goes out to the Flyers for putting together a great playoff run, with the proper goalie in place they could have won it. They had everything going for them. Star power, leaders, scoring depth, grit, defensive depth... toughness... Goaltending was the biggest issue here. I don't care what anyone says, a Cup Final is still something to get very excited and happy about. Most people's teams don't even get that far in years.

In regards to the thread topic.... Wow, was that not the weirdest, most anti-climactic game/Stanley Cup winning OT goal in history? :lol It was so surreal. Not that Hawks fans do (or should) care... a goal's a goal and the Cup is Chicago's. But I'd have hoped for something a little more dramatic. So weird.

It was very anti-climatic. Almost a playoffs killer because of how it ended. Nobody but the goalie and Patrick Kane (Kane for sure) knew it was a goal. The vast majority of the audience at the game, and all the viewers watching on television, including the players from both teams didn't know it went in. Despite the fact Kane was in the beginning stages of his goal celebration, the play continued. It wasn't until Kane's dramatic celebration kept going that the Hawks were finally convinced after seeing Kane was so sure and wouldn't let up his goal celebration that they came to celebrate with him regardless of the official outcome was. It wasn't until the goals were officially announced that we all knew it was for real, and or course the replay showed... yup, it went in! It just went into a side pocket of the bottom of the net, combined with the angle and velocity of the shot I'm not surprised there was some confusion.

No kidding. If I were a 'Hawks fan, I'd feel a little jipped. Not that how you score the winning goal should matter after 49 years. It was just so strange how the entire arena (outside of those 2 players at first) was in stunned silence/shock. It must have been very weird for those Flyers fans to get up and leave after that. :lol

Please peeps, I know what happened was horrendous and there are no excuses for it, but this thread has been and is great.
Don't let one person ruin that.

I have raised this with Dave and the other Mods so we will see how it goes and what is decided upon, but things around here will be closely watched, even moreso than usual.

Please, just ignore, he's not worth it.

After such a crazy and amazing playoffs, it does leave you wanting more. That goal was sick though, and his celebration was very dramatic. Would have been better had the entire hockey world know what was going on at the time and if it was in the winning team's home building. Oh well, it was an ending... I guess.

That's what I said! Some people think they are helping a cause when really they aren't. The best ammo is not to give the person any attention. So thanks for chiming in Scot! This is a fantastic thread, and you know why? Because I have 450 brilliant posts (looks around... whew coast is clear) and the fact is that the topic is hockey baby.
I said it first 2 pages ago :nana: :lol

Anyway I have to admit to knowing nothing about Hockey but I love checking in on this thread cos it's like actually being at a game, you guys are so enthused and charged up by it which is fab to read!!!
It's the same with the other Sports threads here. I love 'em :rock
It reminds me of when I used to go watch Rugby :rock

I can just imagine you guys sitting and shouting at the screens while typing reactions here :panic:
