I dont see it and not cuz Im some blind homer. Teams like Philly have made tehre bed, and never get the benefit of the calls. You think Scott hartnell leads the league in PIM's cuz the refs dont like him??

You just stated my point. If the refs can't call a fair game then they should be fired. A teams rep should have nothing to do with it.

Coach said it best:

Laviolette agreed, which is why he was so pointed in his postgame comments. The game turned on a strange early call. Mike Richards' dazzling goal was erased because the referees said the whistle had blown due to a Simon Gagne high-stick of Evgeni Malkin - even though no one seems to have heard the whistle or to have seen a referee raise an arm before Richards scored.

"I guess I'm frustrated because for the last month and a half, we've been preaching discipline, preaching staying out of the box, and our players have bought into that," Laviolette said.

"Going back and looking at that game, there are just too many penalties that never happened. . . . Simon Gagne didn't high-stick anybody."

It made up for the ____ty bankjob Carter pulled earlier :)

Philly needs to tone down the "pound you into the boards attitude", they have a good team and dont need to play that way. If they did maybe some of the calls wouldnt be made

Doesn't help that the history of the team is notorious for having dicks...

Clarke, Hextall, Lindros, Carcillo, Downie, and the list goes on. Granted, I do like Hextall and his anger problems.

Caps roll again last night. 7 wins in a row. Dear lord please let this be their year. Just win 1 cup and I will be happy forever. They still need D at the trade deadline though and consistant play between the pipes.

Who knows, maybe Washington can snag Thomas Kaberle..though i see it highly unlikely.

A true Caps fan would have asked for more Cups than its biggest rival, a team that owns its team's ass every single time come playoff time. I'm just saying. :monkey1

3 Cups baby! 3 Cups!

I've read Souray will be on the move at the deadline and that would bolster anyone's blueline. Also Turco might be tradeable as well. He hasn't done that well stat wise the last couple years, but I don't know if its more him or Dallas in general. I don't get to watch many west coast games.

The only name I hear linked to the pens so far is Ray Whitney but he has a lot of interest. If there ends up being a bidding war I'm sure we won't snag him because Shero will not overpay for a rental.

Quoted for the truth. Are O is great, 7 goals last night and the best player in the league didn't register a point(are lines are deep), if Mcstinks adds some D will should be ok.

Caps dpn't need another offensive defensemen so please scratch the names above. They need a big, strong, crease clearing guy. Someone who can be paired with Green to cover his "defensive" zone "play".

Dion Phaneuf FTW

The Caps and Canucks are the two deadliest teams in the league right now.

More-so Vancouver, what has gotten into the Sedin twins and Burrows, and why the heck is Robidas (not related to either team) leads the league in PPGs among dmen? WTF?! WTF?!?!?!?!

Pens laid a stinker last night. I hope they have a better showing against the Wings on Sunday, on NBC for those who care.

The Caps also had at one point a team in the AHL which is 9 points ahead of everyone in the standings, and a ECHL team that is 18 points up on everyone in the East. I hate to say it, but the strongest club depth wise (BY FAR) are the Washington Capitals. They have insane depth everywhere. What they lack is a true competent starter at the NHL level, but anyone of their guys (Varlamov, Neuivy, and Holtby) can be the guy to get them there one day.

Damn their scouting!
