I'd say right now Boston has the best chance of pulling it off. Winning the cup.

I'm normally more optimistic as a fan, but I can't see it. The way Thomas has played lately along with the lack of PP, will bite them in the ass.

After seeing the Canucks today, the Cup is theirs to lose. The Sharks seem done and I don't like Canadiens Sud's chance against them either.

I am very happy with the Canucks of course. But 1 goal was the only one not on powerplay. So I want to see them get to the net more and take more chances. Even though they won, they still struggled at times. And they start to scramble when the Sharks have any kind of movement. And that puts them in a bad place. So they need to stop scrambling.

Excellent that the Canucks won! :yess: Pretty annoyed at how many penalties occurred in the game (on both sides), i mean seriously refs?? But hey, the 5-on-3's are what got us the win, so whatever does it I guess. I do hope they can put the sharks away in Game 5, but I hope that they can score more without needing power plays. I mean, only 13 shots on goal compared to San Jose's 35... canucks need to do better than that. Again, we won with even that limited amount of shots, so, they did something right. :woo

I love you two so much. You girls rock, and I can see you're both knowledgeable at the game. Minus-the Rinne being MVP material. :nana: Hockey and Buffy nuts, you have my love! That and you're good people, but there is a huge major flaw to both of your posts. The negative sentiments of a team that just won 4-2 and scored a good bulk of those goals on the power play. Be happy that their power play is as effective as it is because miserable PPs cripple playoff teams. Why my Pens lost to the Lightning and why my Moose couldn't beat Hershey in the Calder Cup Final two years ago.

When your team scores 3 goals on the man advantage and doubles the scoring output of their opponent, a very talented, big, deep San Jose team, you have to be happy with those results. I get that you both are. That makes sense. It doesn't make sense however when you still find a place to complain when your team is doing very well on special teams. Remember, special teams wins games (big important games)! Add to the fact you're getting scoring from every where, and the Sedins arrival in these playoffs (albeit a bit slow on the draw at first), but the fact the team has been winning every series and has played well as it has, I simply see no room to complain about anything. Especially a team that scores too many goals on the PP... if I could say that for my Moose and my Pens they may have gone further than they had.

Just sayin'. :peace

Firstly... I take back what I said about Rinne being the MVP. I was under the influence of stupid. :lol

Secondly, I'm not knockin' the special teams and their PP. The Canucks were very efficient on both the PK and their 5-on-3. Killing 5 straight San Jose power plays, that's impressive and helped our team greatly last night. HOWEVER, as good as power play goals are, the team needs to be able to get the puck in the net at full strength. You can't necessarily count on getting a power play every time to save your ass in the game. And the Canucks showed last night that they can score without the assistance of a PP, when Sedin made that brilliant pass to Burrows. We just need to see more of that. (And yes, I'm sure someone will comment on that "pass" being more of a really bad shot, but whatever, :pfft: )

The main problem the Canucks, well I should say two of their main problems, had in Game 3 was their hustle and the rebounding. It was practically non-existant. They showed up this game. The fact that Burrows backed up Sedin that whole way down shows they notice where their previous fault were and they're working on them.

It's nice seeing the twins bringing their A-game this series. Also, sweet hit on Thornton, Raffe Torres. :clap Sucks that he's injured, I don't wish that upon any player, but hey... if you can't take the hits, get off the ice.

The one thing I can say that was Boston's saving grace for that debacle of a trade, dealing Thornton for scrubs and spare parts players (oh yay Sturm!), is the fact he has never been that effective in big games that matter. That's NHL playoffs and the international stage, where he's been lackluster in his tenure with Team Canada. So who cares about all those big 100+ point regular seasons, if that's all you can give and not show up when it counts, you become all smoke and mirrors.

And that's why if I had an NHL team, I would never want big Joe on my team. 7-8 million US for what he delivers... no thanks! San Jose can have him!

i don't hate him. i just don't want him to win. just like i don't hate MA Fleury. i just don't want him to put on a Penguins jersey ever again.

Now that is stupid. The guy has won us a Cup. Watch that Game 7 against Detroit in 2009. Talbot was nutso, but so was Fleury. He made some amazing saves that aided to our Cup win. Without that kind of game, it would have been a Wings Championship.

He also kept us in it for the most part of the 2nd half when we had no business winning a lot of games without our two big superstars in the lineup and the fact we even went seven games with a very talented and healthy Tampa Bay team. He took us to seven games despite no power play and at one point having 5 guys removed (Crosby/Malkin/Kunitz/Cooke/Jeffrey) from our top 9.

Don't be silly the Craw. Silly doesn't suit you. :pfft:

:goodpost: However, I still can't believe that Mike O'Connell couldn't have gotten more from somewhere else for Joe.

About the only positive it gave the Bruins was a few years of the hilarious Sturm face.

Actually the biggest positive is that it freed over 7 million off the books each year for the Bruins. Joe is not the answer. He's just an expensive name. All flash and no show.

I want a Vancouver/Boston Final. I am sorry but that's where it stops for you my friend. I wanna see a Canucks Cup win. hehe

I would love to see former Moose players and coach raise the Cup.

I still do not know what to think of my city getting an NHL team.

it will probably be a thrill for several years like when we got the Wild. then, after it looks like you will never get any star players or ever have a chance to advance in the playoffs, people will lose interest, until eventually they relocate the team to Mexico City.

AHHHHHHHHHHH CANUCKS!!!!!!!!

:fireworks :yess::yess::yess: :fireworks

Way to go Bieksa seeing that puck when no one else did. Fan-freaking-tastic!! :woo Such an awesome game. Luongo, as much as I jaw-drop at the 54 shots you stopped :bow, I'm a little disappointed in you blowing it on the goal from Setoguchi. Can't be perfect I guess. Just win the Cup and all will be forgiven. 4 wins to go til :winner

Now, I am off to bed. 2OT put me way past my bedtime.

I was very happy for them. I know that when Luongo decided to leave the net to stop the puck, and it ultimately ended in the Sharks scoring, I was madddd. He'd been doing so great and that was just a blow. I cannot believe that with just over 13 seconds left in the game, the Canucks scored. I was so happy. Jumping so high out of my seat. The OT was tough to get through. My heart was pounding out of my chest. I am so thrilled that Bieksa's goal was right on in a good spot and not too much to the side of the net.

Both teams were outstanding. Canucks had less shots on goal but took their time instead, creating great passes and opportunities. I saw the Sharks take more shots on net but maybe not taking as much time to set themselves up.

I am just very happy that we won!!

I am sure Eli will now pick apart my post. Yay.

Just for that comment, I won't. :pfft:

The Sharks (team and fans) keep complaining about last night's game and most of the games really. Outshooting the Canucks 91-47 in the last two games especially, and that they should have won games and perhaps the series based off those numbers. Sorry to tell ya Sharks... but even though Vancouver shot less times that you, they still managed to put them in the net. I.e. a better percentage than you. More goals to less shots. So stop crying. Work on your scoring and we'll see you next playoff season.
