I do hope people stop talking about "The Bite" soon. It's very annoying to see/hear it in practically any and every hockey article or conversation right now. Big deal, it happened, Burrows was not penalized by the league, people need to get over it. Nothing happened to Horton after his Game 6 antics, don't see people hanging up on that. Hopefully with Burrows' heroics in Game 2, that news will die off.

Burrows was spectacular to say the least! Can't believe the wrap around goal just 11 seconds into OT. I screamed like a little girl. (BG, you screamed like a little girl too, don't deny it :p ) Excited, but mostly nervous for Game 3. Boston is really feeling the pressure now, and it going to their turf will prove difficult for us tomorrow.

I just hope the Bruins don't go gunning for Burrows now... I'm sure he tops their list of most hated people right now. Oh well, he's got plenty of love in Vancouver! Go Canucks!

And the hack by peverly yesterday! Both worse then burrows bite!

I don't see how a slash is remotely the same as biting.

Like I said before the non-ruling didn't shock me, but it doesn't mean I agree with it. It just makes the NHL look like the bush league operation that many see them as. At the very least they should have fined him a small sum. What leg does the league have to stand on to discipline biting after setting this precedent? The promo with Burrows and the Sedins on the NBC broadcast poking fun at the incident wasn't funny it was also bush league.

I think it's funny when a guy justifies that a slash is better than a bite. Both hurt, both are immature, and both would land a person in jail if those type of shenanigans happened on a public domain like a street or home. So yes, slashing and biting are one in the same to me.

^^^^^

Slashes are way more common Eli, duh.

Everyone in the NHL is going to slash or get slashed at one point. Now for the people who bite, you get hartnell and burrows in there own little petri dish.

When Betman and NBC outlaws fighting in hockey, perhaps we can have slap downs.

If teams were alowed to have enforcers who policed this game, the cheap-shot, girly crap, socceresque dives etc. would be gone!

Imagine if you will... guy lafleur biting, wayne cashman...

never wouda-happened.

I hope they don't stop talking about it. He bit a player. He's a sissy. Go Canucks...but 'sissy-boy Burrows' can rot.

And the hack by peverly yesterday! Both worse then burrows bite!

Because slashing someone in the stomach intentionally because you're upset the guy legally checked you into the glass... that's not immature or a sissy move? Bieksa was skating away, and Peverley just lays it into him on purpose like he's swinging a baseball bat. I'd call that a lot worse than a silly little bite. Please, one would have more blood drawn and pain from a cat scratch compared to the minuscule bite Burrows made. A stick to the stomach... I'd call that a much more serious potential injury.

I wouldn't call someone a sissy who has put up 17 points and 9 goals. A tie for most on the canucks (goals I mean) and 1 away from most in the post-season.

BUT, if we're so insistent on name-calling, very well... Burrows can be a sissy, and I shall call Peverley an immature crybaby :lol

--------
Sorry, scratch that, I was going off memory and thought I'd remembered Peverley getting Bieksa in the stomach. Back of the knees it was apparently. Well, that's still a pretty dangerous and stupid move to make on someone whose back is turned to you. Cheap shot.

Burrows is a shift disturber, do not confuse his game and he won't be the first or last player to bite.

And I get that slashes are more predominate than bites are but both are unacceptable in society. So get over the bite people and yeah, he's a sissy. I bet Burrows could clean the clock with the whole lotta yeas.

:exactly: :goodpost:

If it makes you feel better that a sissy could clean the clock with you then go straight ahead... call him a sissy. :medic

:rotfl :rotfl It's funny, because in reality, I think every single one of us would cower and cry like a little girl if we saw a 6 foot something guy like Burrows barreling down on us on an ice rink.

Calling someone like that a sissy is kind of like throwing an object at someone then running away before they can do anything to you... :lol

Yes. Definitely, yes.

A French Canadian that bites? :rotfl Western Canadians are tough as nails. Every single one I've known, whether it was through the military or just in general, were extremely tough individuals. Ontario breeds em tough as well.

Alas, this is something we'll never agree on, and the internet has a habit of making everyone 6'5 and 250 or 5'0 and a buck 20. Suffice it to say, Burrows BIT another player.

He BIT him.

That's ________ _____.
